Re: What makes my Adventurebilt an Adventurebilt?

I would say you still have a great hat. It's isn't a 100% by Steve's hand and doesn't have the block, liner and won't yield the exact shape but it will still be a good hat. I have all of Steve's blocks and parts. I can always bring it back to its 100% glory when you are ready but try and enjoy the ...

What makes my Adventurebilt an Adventurebilt?

I'm trying to decide if I've made a mistake. I bought a Crystal Skull AB back in 2010 from Steve. I absolutely love my hat (you can see it over there<==== in my profile pic). Lately, it's been looking a bit scruffy. At first, I was happy to let it get that personal character from whatever adventures...

Personally, I like my Todd's boots that I bought a few years ago. I don't use them for work, but I like them for kicking around town. My understanding is that he has a new run now that is higher quality.

A few years ago my well intentioned mother-in law bought me an official, licensed, fur felt fedora that came with a tear drop crown  . I took it to a local hatter to have him remove the tear drop and put in a center crease. Twenty bucks later I had what I asked for.

This reminds me of a time I was on a jobsite. A coworker, for some reason I can't remember, decided to start bashimg on Mormons. Several times a day he would pop off with some derogatory comment toward them and laugh his fool head off. Finally, toward the end of the day, he shot his mouth off again....

I've gotten to the point that I don't wear my hat if I know I'm going to have to take it off somewhere. I don't mind taking it off at a friend's house, where I can be aware of it's location and relative safety, but when there's nowhere to put it, forget it. I hate wearing it while I eat, and there's...

I voted for Crystal Skull because I think it's the most wearable in multiple situations. I wear mine camping as well as to church with a suit. The SOC has a great look, but it's on the edge of looking worn out, which is great for the scene, but not so much for a more sophisticated look. Next I would...

I think a person could wear the entire SA Indiana Jones "costume", minus the whip, gunbelt, and fedora, and no one outside of gearheads would ever equate the clothing with Indy. However, add the fedora to a pair of tan pants and a brown leather jacket, and the mind instantly goes to Indy. ...

Like others here I like the CS configuration too. I didn't really have full gear until after CS, but the backward gun belt through the whip holder made the most sense to keep the gun belt from sliding off my hip, as well as making it easier to get the gun belt on and off.
So, in short, I like it! :H:

The tall crown was one of the reasons I wanted my AB. I have a very high crown to my head, and regular hats don't fit at all. I look absolutely ridiculous in baseball hats as they always ride really high on my head as if I'm wearing a kid's hat. The high crown of the Indy fedora is a must for me.
