Nice score!

Careful when you replace the recoil springs. If not removed correctly, it can damage the frame.
Also, they usually run pretty well on Winchester White Box ammo.

The new Todd's is here and I'm really liking it. Love this new leather. So incredibly soft and light. The top coat on the leather is very thin, so it distresses very easily (only been wearing it about a week and it is already beginning to show wear around the seams/cuffs) http://img.photobucket.com/...

Moses, In my opinion, Wested's "crispe lamb" is a bit "over the top" as far as grain goes (sort of like the Nowak "dino-hide" SL). The leather used on the latest batch of Todd's really have nailed the look of the film jacket, but, I know what you mean about their sizing...

Very nice. I've got a byf42 myself, but mine has a mismatched frame (it was renumbered to match the slide) They seem to all be ammo sensitive. Mine will only run reliably with Winnie White Box.

If you are going to put them on yourself, get a whole bag of them from Tandy, like interbak said. Unless you have a press style snap setter, they can be little buggers to install and they may go sideways on you (you have to make sure everything is straight an hit the setter just right with the hamme...

Goat doesn't wear much naturally so keep that in mind. JMO. I think it really depends on how the hide was tanned and finished. I don't know about the goat hides Peter is currently using, but, I have a Hero in the "New Soft Goat" that is distressing beautifully, and much quicker than I exp...

My thoughts exactly!

Goat is definitely tougher than lamb, yet lighter and more flexible than cowhide.
Has some texture, but, is nowhere near the "croco-gator" look.

Wested custom will get you the fit you want and would fit within your $300 budget.

But that brings up a bigger issue since on some jackets (Nowak and Kelso for example) the handwarmer pocket is cut through the jacket and is a separate fabric pocket inside the lining. You can add Todd's and Wested to that list. The only jacket's I've ever encountered that did not have cut-in hand ...

Todd ships very fast (as I'm in the same state, I usually get my stuff next day).
However, once customs gets a hold on a package, they like to take their sweet time.

Hey everyone, I just received my hero in the soft goat. It has some pretty deep "wrinkles", for lack of a better term, from the shipping trip. Does any one know if those wrinkles will relax on their on after being hung up or is there something that I should or could do to help the process...

I got one of the 'roo hide whips Todd had a while back and it looked liked they dipped the thing in wax.
I think the guys who are making these things are using bees wax as plaiting soap.

IMO, Kelso is the tops with Wested coming in at a close second.
