Nice score!
Careful when you replace the recoil springs. If not removed correctly, it can damage the frame.
Also, they usually run pretty well on Winchester White Box ammo.

The new Todd's is here and I'm really liking it. Love this new leather. So incredibly soft and light. The top coat on the leather is very thin, so it distresses very easily (only been wearing it about a week and it is already beginning to show wear around the seams/cuffs) http://img.photobucket.com/...

Moses, In my opinion, Wested's "crispe lamb" is a bit "over the top" as far as grain goes (sort of like the Nowak "dino-hide" SL). The leather used on the latest batch of Todd's really have nailed the look of the film jacket, but, I know what you mean about their sizing...

If you are lucky, it may not be mold at all, but, something called "spew". Basically, what happens is over time, the plaiting soap used when the whip is made will leach to the surface and dry out. This leaves a white powdery film on the surface of the leather. Wiping it down with a damp cl...

Nice find. That holster is in very good shape for its age! The leather used to make holsters is usually fairly stiff. It helps the holster keep its shape and allows for easier draw of the weapon. As long as the leather doesn't feel like it's going to crack when it's flexed, you should be all r...

My thoughts exactly!
Goat is definitely tougher than lamb, yet lighter and more flexible than cowhide.
Has some texture, but, is nowhere near the "croco-gator" look.
Wested custom will get you the fit you want and would fit within your $300 budget.
