Definitely a Last Crusade cut. It's really hard to tell by the pics what the back pleats are like. I could understand with such tough hide that a complex pleat may have not been suitable. One more thing. I have a friend that doesn't like "making of" documentaries. They destroy the illusion of things that he loves. He doesn't want to know that the director of a movie that he loved was actually a jerk. Or another example is some people don't want to hear about a musician's pe...

We all have our private impressions of Tony. Again, I liked him a lot. He was an honest guy that stood behind his product. I too got grade A service from Tony. Oh and after Steven Spielberg is dead, you will read many, many accounts about him not being a nice man. That's what happens after people pass, the truth comes out. At least Tony was a nice man. Nobody's saying otherwise. I'm not sure what the problem is.

Tony Nowak, I visited Tony's shop a few times. I had about 5 or 6 interactions with him, including one QM summit. He was a really cool guy. He was honest, for what counts. But you guys are mistaken if you think that he appreciated the fanboy-geek-obsession that many of his Indygear customers had, b...

I would say that the lack of a quilted lining defeats the purpose. All of those old leather jackets with hidden knits are more substantial than an Indy jacket. When you alter an Indy jacket and add a more substantial lining, it isn't really an Indy jacket anymore. There are really cool "other&q...

My deerskin Expo ended up with Baphy, and unfortunately he passed away. I don't know what happened to the jacket. I would have never gotten rid of it if it still fit me. Screen grab studying is a pseudo science. I used to consider myself a top "scientist" in the field, lol. All you can really get from screen grabs are basic details (like the jacket having 2 front pockets for instance). When you take something that is 3 dimensional in real life, and flatten...

I have both, but my TN is a lambskin so it is apples and oranges. I would imagine that in a tough skin like goat, a TN won't let you down. It's made well. But I still have to give the nod to G&B. They're next to indestructible.

The dying for each batch of goatskin can vary. Some of the goatskin from G&B ages well. It also seems that their dark brown goatskin in general shows age better than their seal. At a certain point, it was thought that the seal was the closest to the original film jacket. Wested's own version of ...

Yeah, zippers were around, but they weren't popular until later, as Paterson pointed out. Also, if you want to get technical, there were no "elastic" waistbands as you pointed out. What you meant was a knit waistband. Elastic came into use on leather jackets in the 80's. A waistband would ...
