Retired? That's a shame. Looks like Western Stage Props is all out of his Indy 4 style whip now.

riku1914, that is good advice re: the longer handle. My nylon whip has a 9" handle with a thicker transition/taper and it's helped with :nearly: getting it. I might try the hybrid whip (and Joe makes a Lonestar whip with a 10" handle)... I had no problem learning the Coachman with my 8ft R...

It is a really neat series of cracks and the first time I saw it was in Adam's 10 foot combo video. I can perform the move both with a 10 and 8 foot whip, but I'm still getting used to it as I just learned it last weekend, and consistency is not the greatest right now, it goes from clunky to good to...

Amazing, amazing work! That one three crack pattern, in the first link at the :50-:52 second mark is awesome. The way you transition the whip backwards into a crack, but on your other side and then back into another forward crack, very cool. I've been learning that three crack pattern but my transit...

Congrats on the new whip! I second the vote for Adam's whip videos on YouTube. I've learned most of my cracks through his work. My best advice, advice that I learned from many here, is just to take your time and relax. If you rush, you will make mistakes and you may not realize what is happening. Pr...

Switching back and forth between the 8 foot and 10 foot was a little disconcerting with the weight difference.

I've been practicing my targeting on the purple maple tree in my parents yard.
Leaves make wonderful targets, though my father comes out and asks me if I could whip them BACK onto the tree
I tried some moving targets last weekend, and I was either over the thrown object or below it.

Is the Arrowhead easier with a 10 foot whip?
I had a quick session with the lovely weather we had and gave the Arrowhead a try to less than stellar results. Granted that was to be expected.
However, it felt as though the whip (8ft) might be a little short for this combo. Is it easier to perform with a 10ft whip?

Fall hasn't shortened at all yet, I think I'm just more comfortable with the 8ft and now it's starting to feel like an extension of my arm rather than something unwieldy. Now, having said that, I'm no pro, but I feel very comfortable with the whip.
