I managed to stretch it a bit again by putting some conditioner and stretching it over my block with a thick piece of leather in between the hat and block. It wasn't much but it did get the "wonkiness" out of it. There's already a hole in front because of the pinch - which I plan on repair...

My FedIV's sweatband has shrunk. It's now all wonky... and I do mean wonky!

Will conditioning it and stretching it still work or should I just remove the whole thing?

If you've ever gotten your whip stuck on a low hanging branch, you'd know that it's pretty hard to remove the whip once it gets a good grip.

There are now more than 300+ members scattered from all over the Philippines plus 10 or so foreign members. As for how many switched to paracord, I don't know. But I think only a handful have switched, but most have expressed interest. But we only have one paracord whip maker here in the Philippines...

My Todd's jacket is slowly deteriorating. The collar on my jacket has started to peel off. I'm not sure what's causing it; is it my sweat or something else? If the diameter of the sleeves need to be reduced, I wouldn't try. There's no good way to make the sleeves more narrow and still connect correctly onto the body of the jacket. I did the opposite. Since a turned hat doesn't work on my head, I decided to just center the pinch. I had to reblock it myself though, as there aren't any hatters here in the Philippines. Got out all signs of the old pinch.

People over here associate a fedora with short brimmed hats. Any had that has a wider brim is automatically a cowboy hat for them. Go figure. :roll:

...but it was the distance from any real hatters (and lack of extra funds) that really drove me to even attempt it. Hahaha!

The only reason I reblock my own hats is because I can't afford to have it reblocked in the US. Shipping + reblock fee + shipping again + possible customs taxes make having a hat reblocked by a professional kinda hard. Still haven't attempted a full reblock, though. Like you, I'm afraid of my sewing...

If you're looking to experiment with crackers that cut cleaner, you can try diabolo string. I think that's what they put on the end of the Karaka whips and I found it to cut paper and cans really well, as long your my aim is on ;) -Adam I think I'd be a little afraid to use a cracker that can easil...
