I did put Pecards on my whip when I first got it and did the whole let it dry for 2 days routine. I did notice a dramatic decrease in the stiffness of the whip since I've gotten it especially after using it today. Yeah I have quite a bit of armor on myself. Leather jacket, thick pants, eye protection, ear plugs, hardhat for new crack attempts, and gloves for when my palm gets sore. Its a ton of fun though I'm finding out.

It's done!!!!!!! I got word this morning that my whip is all ready to be sent out to me. The past 8 weeks have been torture. Well I updated the site and threw some more pictures on it with the finished whip. Let me know what you think.

I was told when ordering my whip from Bernie that either a 6ft or an 8ft would be best for a beginner. He leaned me towards the 8ft, so thats what I got. Just so you know I am 5'7" so we have a similar height.

I haven't gone out yet, I just thought from what I read on the forum you need to wear protection. I guess I can decide what needs to go once I start cracking. I just don't want to get hurt. I think gloves is a good idea though to prevent blisters.

Alright so I have most of the safety gear I feel is necessary for me when my whip finally arrives (leather jacket, goggles, ear plugs, and a hardhat) but what I don't have is a pair of gloves. I couldn't think of a specific product, but would putting a small amount of brown shoe polish on the scratches work?
