Re: Just received my first Adventurebilt

Looks good. I forgot how dark these are when you first get them. I t will fade a little with time amd take on its own character. That is when they really shine in my opinion. I read over and over when I received my AB 4 years ago to wear it and not baby it because it doesn't need to be babied. Take ...

I am pretty sappy when it comes to my possessions. I own a few fedoras. My favorite is my AB CS that is now a few years old. I have grown quite attached to my AB. I actually love this story. It is very fitting that a man of 84 years wants a fedora made for him. He was alive when fedoras were on every mans head. He lived in the era of fedoras. With my rudimentary math skills I was able to deduce that he was born in 1927. The men and women that came from that e...

I e-mailed back and forth with Steve at Adventurebilt about pouncing. This is what he had to tell me and it seems relevant to this post. "Hello Chris. Sounds like you fixed the fuzzes. Depending upon the run of felt you have, pouncing with 320 grit up to 2500 grit really depends upon the felt. ...

Re: Just got my first Indy fedora, and boy do I look dopey!

One way to solve this is to go with a custom hatter. Tell them your concerns and maybe send them your picture and let them design a fedora that suits you better while still giving off that Indy vibe. It will cost more but in the end paying less for a hat you will never wear really gets you no where....

I gave BendingOak a hat to refurb roughly a year ago. It had a tight raiders pinch and I wanted it to have a loose pinch resembling the last crusade. The problem with this conversion, not any fault of Oaks, is the faded crease line in the felt due to the tight pinch. That is one draw back to this ty...
