In my experience:

For double handed whipcracking:
-stockwhips 10inch handle, 5ft thong
-6ft bullwhips, with a 12 inch handle

For single whipcracking:
-indy whip: 7 to 8ft bullwhip
-australian whip: The 8ft Ben Scott's Aussie.

I prefer roo hide falls on my stockwhips, and some more heavy leather to build falls for bullwhips.
