Re: Wested Leather - Legacy Last Crusade Jacket

I have an ‘off the rack’ Temple and it is a more slimmer fit jacket compared to the raiders . The Temple sleeves are narrower and although the torso is slimmer mine doesn’t taper towards the waist. I have it in lambskin and generally only wear it during the summer months (unzipped - like in the film...

Re: Wested Leather - Legacy Last Crusade Jacket

Prodigal Son - the temple is a good option for an everyday jacket , maybe go up a size as it’s a more fitted style. Harrison Ford may have experienced the same issue with the Last Crusade jacket during filming as it’s rarely seen zipped up ( I think it’s only seen zipped during the airship/bi-plane ...

Re: Wested Leather - Legacy Last Crusade Jacket

Each to their own and obviously it depends on what ‘look’ you’re going for - but if you’re going to wear it as an everyday jacket I personally favour the raiders pattern. The higher armhole placement enables you to have more freedom of movement in your arms when the jacket is zipped up.In my experie...

Re: Wested Leather - Legacy Last Crusade Jacket

Don’t wish to confuse the issue any further , but are you aware the LC jacket pattern differs from the raiders pattern in that the armhole placement is lower on the torso. I have the Wested legacy ,a great jacket , until you zip it up and try to raise your arms - you get that ‘bat wing’ or ‘flying s...

Re: Wested Jacket Pre-Distressed Hide vs Goat

I have both Wested goat and pre-distressed in the ‘raiders’ pattern - both great jackets. The pre-distressed is a heavier hide ,ideal for colder weather - it shows up any scuffs and marks you get when wearing it ,so looks aged and well worn much sooner. The goat skin is tough ,more resistant to dist...

I think Wested said the Legacy lambs skin was the closest to the skin used on the original raiders jacket - and should distress in the same way.

The trouble with high-quality cavalry twill trousers, like wested's , is they feel more like a 'formal occasion' dress trouser - something to wear only 'for best'. I too had a pair of Todds boots and suffered the same problem . I think the problem lies in the fact they are just 'costume' boots and not intended for everyday wear. Mine had no cushion or support in the soles and the heels wore down very quickly. I gave up on them and saved for a pair of Aldens.
