Nice. I managed to snag one at booth at a WW2 re-enactment fo $20.
The best part was, I had no idea it was THE bag. Just thought the squarish look was familiar

Greenery on a fed IV
I wet down my fed IV for a reblock, and a bright green discoloration has showed up on a few parts of the hat.
It dosen't look like mold, but its still unnerving.
I think this has happened before, and it disappeared. I think.
Should I be worried?

Re: stretching a hat
I meant stretching the crown to look taller, I saw somebody's hat on another forum who said he stretched. But so far, my reblocking hasn't worked. I've managed to reblock a fed IV, cowboy hat, and a wool hat and they look great, no trace of the original shape. The Dorfman isn't doin anything except ...

Re: stretching a hat
Making a pretty badly tapered dorfman look like a decent hat. I'd like raiders, but i'll settle for LC.
I've seen some amazing things done in the way of raiders on here.

Dorfman advice
Ok, I need some serious input. I have 3 hats, a dorfman fur, a fed IV, and a vintage(?) cowboy hat(which is now a fedora. I built a block from styrofoam and re-blocked my cowboy hat a few times, and it looks phenominal. \:D/ I tried my dorfman and It just turned even more tapered and the brim warped...

Weak/floppy brim
first of all let me start by saying I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Onto business. My fed IV standard's brim has become floppy in certain spots, mostly on one side. It creases down while the rest of the brim wil be shaped in the same curve. comparing the 2 sides there isn't too much d...

Felt over time
Has anyone ever had any incident where their hat's felt has rubbed through or a hole formed?
Is it related to the "fuzziness" of a hat?

Re: The Federation IV Display Page
Ok guys....sorry for the delay. I just got back from a camping trip, which I wore my Fed on most of the time. But now I have a problem  When I took off my hat I noticed a metal rod protruding from the back of my sweatband, which promptly broke off after VERY SLIGHT handling. I wasn't too wori...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page
Hello all! I have been a long time lurker and have just joined after far too long \:D/ Thanks to this page, I have been introduced to the Fed IV regular after a series of misinformed purchases, including a wool felt dorkman pacific :x and a Pendleton"Indy Style" (Which wasn't a bad hat, it...
