Re: Wested Indy Trousers
I had a pair of Wested Indy trousers a long time ago but I cannot remember the width of the belt loops or what the maximum width of belt will fit in the loops. Anybody care to measure theirs?

Re: Todd's new boots
Can you not replace these at a shoe repair shop? With stronger hooks? Yes I could, if there was a decent shoe repair shop near to where I live, unfortunately he closed his shop years ago. I have ordered replacement hooks like those that are installed on White's and Hathorn boots however I do not ha...

Re: Todd's new boots
When he gets new stock in I hope that the incredibly cheap eye-hook problem is fixed, and non-marking soles would be a big plus as well. I've only got two usable eye-hooks left on one of mine.

Re: Share your Indy Guns!
It looks like it came right out of Lee Marvin's holster in the movie "The Professionals". Very nice. I imagine Indiana Jones had one of these stashed somewhere.

Re: Share your Indy Guns!
Nice job! The grips could go a shade or two darker in color though, to give it that well worn adventurer look that occurs over many years of handling, weathering, and oiling.

Re: Todd's new boots
Does anyone have a line-up on decent replacement laces for the newer Coyle's boot? My laces are starting to come apart. Try the "Original Service Shoe Laces" from "At The Front", product number USFLOL. I bought these laces for my Outdoorsman's but have not used them yet so can't...

Holy Cow Michaelson! I wonder if it may be the very same revolver? If only these older guns could talk what stories we would hear.

An interesting Colt.
Everyone’s great pictures of their Indiana Jones inspired guns have lead me to jump on the bandwagon so to speak. Like many of us I have always been on the lookout for an Indiana Jones type of gun; newer styles just don't do it and most of the older guns needed modifications, were of smaller caliber...

Re: Henry Senior's Pen and Fountain Pens 101 - Tutorial
If a good cleaning doesn't do the trick, it might need a professional cleaning from a qualified pensmith. Can you PM me a picture of your pen? You might also check inside the pen barrel to see if the ink didn't leak inside the pen. By chance, is it identical to the pen shown here: http://www.parker...

Re: Henry Senior's Pen and Fountain Pens 101 - Tutorial
I have noticed that the ink flow to the pen is not as smooth as it was before the incident so I believe you are both right in that I need to give it a thorough cleaning. From now on I will make sure to use the pen periodically or to empty and clean it for any prolonged periods of inactivity.

Re: Henry Senior's Pen and Fountain Pens 101 - Tutorial
I have a fairly nice Parker Fountain pen, some kind of a commemorative from the USA/Russia nuclear missile disarmament treaty of many years ago. I had installed a brand new Parker ink cartridge and then, although I carry it daily, the pen didn't get much use for about a month or two. When I went to ...

Re: Whip Shoulder Holster
This is interesting, back in 1982 I made a shoulder holster for my old lead handled bullwhip and proceeded to wear it whilst bumming around southern Alaska. Mine was made of old white paracord, a few snaps, and scraps of an old logging boot. Yours is far superior in design and materials. Congratulat...

The horsehide really does look nice, but I can't help noticing that X0 in the background. Is that Vanson's standard leather for the X0 or is it a custom option?

Re: Has anyone actually ever used a bullwhip for protection?
It kind of begs the question, "Why did Indy carry a whip?" Okay. So, I guess we've established that a bullwhip isn't appropriate for protection against animals or humans. Sooooo . . . why did Indy carry a whip, again? ;) If we could perhaps blend the lines of fantasy and reality for a mom...

Re: Has anyone actually ever used a bullwhip for protection?
Similar to _'s experience I was backpacking in Montana's Glacier National Park one time in 1981 when our party came upon a grizzly bear. Our trip leader asked those who had bells to start ringing them and asked me to crack my whip a few times. I felt rather silly as I could not see any bear from whe...

Re: Has anyone actually ever used a bullwhip for protection?
Believe it or not I actually carried a whip for protection when I was young and didn't know any better (the wisdom of age may be a good thing but at times it can spoil the spice of life). I was pretty good with my 8 foot bullwhip at that time and I rigged up this shoulder holster affair which carrie...

Re: Anyone using Obenauf's?
Just a quick note to those of you who want to use Obenauf's. I used it exclusively for years after my stint fighting forest fires and found that with prolonged use it will cause leather to lose it's structure, meaning that repeated use on a nice boot will cause the boot to go soft and floppy in are...

My Adventurebilt Fortune and Glory
I love this hat, rarely going anywhere without it, so I had to post a picture of yours truly and add my endorsement of Adventurebilt. It is truly the best hat in my collection and the only one that is never on the hat rack.
