Re: STEELE & JONES '38
Just got my jacket pics from S&J. It’s a horsehide LC with some modifications to make it a little more hospitable to motorcycle riding — namely gussets, a little extra length in the back (to hide that plumber’s butt!), and warmer material on the inside. Thought I’d share the pictures with you al...

Re: New USW jacket on the horizon
I’ve never had a russet jacket. Do they feel/sound as crinkly as they look? I really dig the color and price but the texture appearance is freaking me out.

I don’t have a Todd’s picture on hand but it’s certainly a LOT less severe. Keep in mind, one is LC and one is Raiders, tho. Made sure to tell Diego “arm-raisability” was a priority on the new order - I’ll be adding gussets as well. Not a sucker for SA as much as I am for functionality. Sent from my...

Re: Squirrel and Hide
Sorry to tell you, but even custom jackets produce the “flying squirrel look” to some degree. It’s the nature of how the jacket is cut. That said. How often do you find yourself in a position which shows that effect? I can guarantee you that if Harrison Ford would have raised his arms with the jack...

Re: Squirrel and Hide
It's all about the size of the armholes. They are larger on the last crusade jacket. The Raiders are smaller and the Raiders Hero (more accurate) are even smaller than that. Make sure you buy the right fit for yourself though, the biggger the jacket the larger the armholes which will naturally be m...

Re: First Magnoli LC White Label Jacket!
Hey Nebraska, jacket looks awesome on you (and off you, too!)
Questions for you:
1) Weighty enough to be a winter coat?
2) Can you fit a sweater underneath?
3) Can you lift your arms while zipped without going all flying squirrel?

Re: Squirrel and Hide
Gadzooks, I always thought the flying squirrel issue had more to do with where the arm holes were placed (the lower the more egregious squirrel look), and less with the gussets. Hopefully someone else will pipe in with more on that. Gussets would help with the flying squirrel look, but higher arm h...

Re: Squirrel and Hide
Was your first jacket a custom or an off the rack? If you provide any jacket maker with good measurements, they can eliminate the squirrel effect with proper sizing. A LOT of OTR jackets have the squirrel effect.....not all, but most. It all depends on the pattern. For example, I've found the Signa...

If Indy was around today and had to carry a handgun, what model do you think he'd carry? Let's make this interesting. I ride motorcycles (no, not with sidecars, but Urals are super cool!) so I'm always on the lookout for good riding jackets. Indy jackets, while excellent for "adventuring" in, sometimes are not so great on bikes (because of the way they're made, the good-fitting ones have a tendency to rid...

The raiders fedora has such a nice, floppy quality to it -- owing to that old brazillian rabbit fur or overexposure of the hat? Whatever the case, I find the crooked, almost droopy brim to be the most charming out of all four films. In your opinion, what is the floppiest of the hats available to us ...
