Pics of 2 month old Wested LC washed goat

The lighting isn't the best, but here are a few pics of my 2 month-old Wested washed goat LC that has been heavily used. If anything, it should give you an idea of how well an OTR jacket can fit. Thank you Wested! EDIT: tried to edit my pics to make them smaller, but photobucket is having issues rig...

Update: I went out in a light, steady rain today and walked around for about 30 minutes to get my jacket wet. I came back in and wore the jacket, zipped up, for about 2 hours while it dried. I stood up the whole time (yes, my feet were hurting by the end), but wow did it pay off. There are some gre...

Anyone else have actions pleats that are always open?

I searched for a topic like this but couldn't find anything about my exact question, so I decided to start a new thread. I was wondering if anyone else's action pleats are staying open nearly all the time. It's not anything terrible, but my side straps are as tight as I can make them, the tops of th...

Does goat possibly shrink then, after it's been soaked? Or is the tightness at my biceps when I raise my arms normal? Like I said... I wore it as much as I could, until it was time to go to bed. Would the larger section on the back possibly shrink a little bit? I haven't noticed any change in size ...

What should I do after being out in the rain with my jacket?

I have a washed goat LC Wested, and was wondering what I should do if caught out in the rain. I know I should wear it until it dries, but do I have to put Pecards on it? I'm not talking about being obsessive over it and applying Pecards every week or something, I'm talking about whether or not I sho...

Sorry, I'm new to the leather jacket scene.

I have a washed goat LC wested. All I'm really looking for is to ensure the jacket's longevity. I want the minimal amount of color change as I like it as is.

Do any major chain stores carry Pecards?

I know I can get Pecards off of their website, but I was wondering if any large chain stores such as Wal-Mart or the like carry it. It would be easier for me to just drive 5 minutes to the store and get it rather than waiting for it to be delivered. Thanks! And one more thing, how much Pecards will ...

Raider S, why did you chose the leather care vs. leather dressing for the goat? Is it because the goat is a more coarse hide than the lamb? Sorry for being a total noob here, but what is the difference between the two? And speaking of Pecards, anyone know hwere I can find it? I know it is on the in...

Best jacket out there! :) I wear mine all the time. Yes, get it a little wet and wear it while it dries. Then I'd certainly put a coat of leather cream on it as I feel this hide really needs the extra moisture when you first get it. The bit of rain will bring out some extra character and then the c...

I know, this thread is useless without pics, but I don't have a digital camera, so sorry  I have to say that for anyone who isn't totally obsessed with screen accuracy (no offense to anyone here that is), this is an amazing jacket. Wested OTR washed goat Raiders vs. LC

Okay... I've been planning on getting a special offer Wested washed goat LC jacket, but I saw the new special offer Raiders, and now I'm torn. I simply can't decide which to get! So my question is: Are there any inherent advantages to either jacket in everyday wearability? Are there any annoying thi...

Anyone ever use a no-heat dryer to break their jacket in?

I'm getting a special offer washed goat LC/CS Wested, and was wondering if anyone has used this technique to break their jacket in. A couple of questions I have about doing this:

1) About how long does it take in the dryer?

2) Will it damage the jacket?

3) Are the results satisfactory?

Thanks!

What effect will extreme cold have on a washed goat?

I'm planning on getting the special offer washed goat LC/CS from Wested, and I was wondering if wearing it reguraly in the cold winter months will have any effect on it. I probably won't be wearing it outside for long periods of time, but 10 to 15 mintues in 0-20 degrees F is what I'm looking at her...

Hey bob, Wested is true to size. Their standard fit gives you more room than the 80s fit which is slimmer and a bit more tapered. If you're a slimmer build go for the 80s fit. It's truer to what Ford would have worn. The special offer raiders jacket on wested.com is cut this way. Hope that helps! I...

If you don't mind me asking another question Peter, are your jackets true to their size? What I mean is that if I am a 38 chest, should I order a 38 jacket? I plan on wearing t-shirts and occasionaly maybe heavier clothing for winter, depending on how warm the jacket is.

For an OTR jacket you have go into the Wested Leather Site and not the Indyjacket.com site. Once there the OTR jacket are listed under Indiana Jones with a link for custom jackets. Okay, this may be due to my inherent lack of intelligence, but I am having trouble discerning exactly what I should fill out on Wested's ordering page to get an OTR jacket. Sure it will affect it - it will wear in spots from the rubbing of the straps depending how heavy the pack is. Depends on how much you use it though. Couldn't tell until you wear it I suppose. Hmm... may have to lighten the load a little. I usually only have a couple books in the backpack, but I'd ...

Anyone know if having a backpack (I am in college right now) on a Wested will have any effect on the jacket, such as molding the jacket to the straps or wearing that will show the friction with the straps? 10) Natural distressing is just the distressing your jacket gets from being worn. Artificial distressing is using alcohol, sandpaper, etc. to get that worn look on a new jacket. I'm a fan of natural distressing myself (although I have distressed a Todd's custom before). Okay, that makes things easi...
