Re: Australian Whip Company gone?
When I joined in 2008 David Morgan was already in the early retirement phase of whip building and Joe Strain, Terry Jacka and Bernardo were the powerhouse builders at the time. I have been really lucky to own a whip from each of these builders and cannot thank them enough for the joy they have broug...

Re: Crystal skull whips
You can definitely see the stiffness in the Jacka in the trailer where Indy misses the truck and falls into the other one. As he says, "#### I thought that was closer." The whip is just standing there in his hand.... The rigid transition is no doubt impressive, it should almost come with ...

Yes and I will never part with it. :). I do like the sounds and look of those Strain versions and might consider adding one of those in the future. Re: Crystal skull whips
As everyone's stated the Jacka is the heaviest whip of the Indys and will tire you out. I love cracking it though and it never fails to impress all those who look upon it. It cracks so loud that people have covered their ears. My only other whip is my 10 yr. old grandson's Todd's 8 ft. which is a w...

Re: Crystal skull whips
As a former Jacka Crystal Skull whip owner I can tell you this to keep in mind if you are on the fence about getting one compared to others: 1. The Jacka CS is the thickest whip I have ever seen, some folks had trouble with getting their hands around the knot due to its size (like a door knob to med...

I'm a little surprised at how many people prefer a medium length whip! I'd say the norm is still for a little on the shorter side but it looks like starting off medium may be best. But hey, whatever works! Just keep it in mind to go easy. You don't want to be jerking it around to get a crack and en...

Very interesting, Contrary to popular belief, you can go pretty fast with the 8-10 footers (not "super" fast, but you get my meaning). Only thing is, they crack so loudly when moving like this that someone will think a firearm is at work in the neighborhood :anxious: . I think that a techn...

It can be done with either length (long or short). The trick is to get the movements down first, break them down into pairs. Work one side, add the transition point, then add the other side. I do mine with 8 and 10 fts usually. The longer whip flow looks cool to me. Just take your time on it, it doe...
