Re: New Smell Update! Getting cigarette smell out of jacket
I bought an old cooper A2 on ebay a couple years ago and when it arrived it smelled like a 70 year old ashtray a cat took a dookie in. I turned it inside-out and started febreezing it everyday for 2 months. Two big bottles of febreeze, and a trip in the shower it was 90% gone. A little more febreeze...

This is Indy related because the jacket is, in fact, brown. Although I am a less familiar with the Indy jacket as far as gear is concerned I did notice another detail that relates this new Cap jacket to Indy's, can you spot it? :-k http://www.celebuzz.com/2011-08-15/snapped-on-set-chris-evans-films-...

Just a heads up; I happened to go in my local kohls today looking for something else and found these shirts on clearance, I got one for $13. I generally try not to impulse buy things, but they are reasonably nice shirts and the price was right.

Good article, thanks for sharing it. The whole "neo-traditional" style seems to be gaining traction, I'm beginning to realize all my vintage, and vintage-inspired wears are getting a little less unique. The only problem I'm having is I recently got a new car and the seats are comfortable b...

I think its a mistake to accept the premise; "Fedoras are sexy or not sexy". Clearly some guys can pull it off while pulling in tons of female friends, but I don't think the fedora was ever intended to be worn for sex appeal. So instead of arguing it would be better to say her premise is w...

Thats a sweet jacket, I liked X-men 1 and 2.
Also Hugh Jackman is in The Prestige, a Christopher Nolan movie if you haven't seen it that is pretty darn good. Definitely the best thing Jackman has done in my opinion, that I have seen.

Having a (brown)Henry, regular Fed IV(non-deluxe), and a Penman beaver raiders I got second hand on here I'll say without a doubt the Penman is the finest of the three, so if you can convince yourself to wait I'd do Penman if money is no issue. As far as the raiders hats being "fawn" I think that it would be wise to keep in mind that as far as naming colors go (dyes, paints, inks etc.) words only go so far and someone at HJ in 1980 might have decided that they were going to call a darker brown hue fawn regardless of what the conv...

I believe the thinking behind not handling it by the crown is, particularly with a tight pinch, you can eventually wear it out. Especially right at the top of the pinch you can break it down enough to wear a hole through. I see it on old hats at antique stores when I look.

I didn't have to do anything to the hat except wear it, about a year on it fits pretty well. It might not take yours as long to shrink up and fit better if you wear it more than I have worn mine. I really only wear it maybe once a week or to do outdoor activities.

I experienced the same thing with my Henry. It seemed a little large when I got it, I solved that with a little of the insulation foam like you receive with an akubra. I've had mine about year now and it has shrunk and fits very nicely now without the foam, however I leave it in. I just prefer a sli...

My Akubra fed IV has been beaten enough now it makes a nice Raiders hat. My biggest gripe about it is the bow; it just isn't very nice. I like to think he switched hats up considering how drastically they change from film to film. Perhaps Indy 5 will feature a closet shot and we'll see his collection of beat up older fedora he is no longer wearing. But of course he never loses one in the course of an adventure!

There is probably an extremely simple reason to why Indy's turban looks different and or larger: You need to be able to distinguish him from all the other robed and turban wearing men in the scenes he isn't in the foreground.....
