I think that depends on the sweatband too. My hats have shrunk naturally to different degrees from different makers.
I would think the lamp would work better by providing more direct/intense heat than leaving the hat in a car.

Re: Sewing in a Smaller Sweatband?
Early in my custom hat ordering days, I had ordered a hat at 23.25” and upon receipt realized I needed 23”. I sent it back to the hatter and he installed a new sweatband without any other adjustments to the hat. The sizing difference was .635cm so if you opt to change out the sweatband you should be...

Re: Question about Indy’s gun in the Cairo bar scene
OK, that's even more bizarre. I misread the thread and thought the monkey stealing the gun was in the '81 edition, not the '08 edition. For it to be in the '08 edition makes no sense at all. Not for nothing, I have the Illustrated Script (published July 1981) so I checked and the monkey doesn't stea...

Re: Question about Indy’s gun in the Cairo bar scene
From what I can tell, the original novelization is based on the script rather than the finished movie, since the dialogue is quite different and there are some scenes that are not in the finished film. Or maybe some it was just the creativity of the author. The 2008 novelization is based on the fin...

Re: Question about Indy’s gun in the Cairo bar scene
That's really odd the novelizations are different, I assumed the 2008 was just a reprint of the original. There was so much cut from the early scripts (and used in TOD) I'm not surprised that if the monkey stealing Indy's gun was in the script it got cut. GL and SS were trying to make a lean movie w...

Re: Question about Indy’s gun in the Cairo bar scene
That's interesting about the novelization. I didn't know it is written that the monkey steals Indy's gun. In the movie the monkey doesn't go anywhere near Indy's holster. I don't see the monkey having anything to do with the distribution of guns. The monkey scurries onto the Monkey Man's (is it him?...

That does look good, but I do not recommend shoe polish for jackets. Shoe polish is a temporary application and you run the risk of the polish rubbing off and staining car seats or other surfaces the jacket has significant contact with. Leather dye is a better option that won’t transfer. Regards, In...

Good call, Michaelson!
A search for “tri-glide buckle” or “slide adjuster buckle” comes up with a million options.
Found these that are plastic, but the middle bar has a gap similar to the Make-It-Jones buckles.

Re: Retrofitting Side Buckles
Glad I could help. You’ll face the same possibility of the metal snapping when you try to pry it open and bending it back. Moving slowly and gently will be the key. Perhaps heating the slider will help with the malleability, but heating can also change the color of the metal. The most challenging op...

We are on the same page. However, looking at the picture of the buckle on the jacket, you don’t need to create a gap where the square comes together. The slider in the middle of the buckle is what slips through the loop on the jacket. It looks like you’ll have to pry the slider off one side of the b...

Re: Retrofitting Side Buckles
I don’t have direct experience working with these buckles, but I think the best way to create a gap is to twist the buckle rather than try to create a gap by pulling the sides apart. Depending on the metal and hardness/brittleness, twisting could cause the buckle to snap/break, but the same could be...

I have a Todd’s holster with a Stembridge resin replica and it fits fine. The Bapty should fit similarly so I suspect the 3D print might be slightly oversized. I too wet molded my holster.
