Re:

If you find a really nice hatter, they might be able to do it for you. I think you're probably better off just going through the frustration of learning how to sew it yourself. Like I said, I made the block myself, so that cost about $20, the flange was about $50 on eBay, the felt was another $50, ...

I have tried wearing a felt hat in Central America (Costa Rica) and it was far too hot. You may well be better off taking either a cotton hat such as a Tilly, or a straw Panama. I'd be happy to post a pic of my favorite cotton sombrero, but just can't figure out how to include a photo here. Best reg...

Upper foot area seam?

Those are great looking boots. I am curious about the stitching around the the top of the part that covers the foot (whatever it's called). Is there a seam that one with hammertoes can rub their toe knuckles against? I've had boots with a seam there, and it can be painful.
Thanks, Ken.

Thus my desire for a cheapo. Randy With the pricing being the way it is now, there's no real reason to go too ...

With the Australian dollar at a low against the US dollar it sure would be a good time for a new Akubra.
Hmm, I'll have to check the piggy bank. ;-)

There is no mention of a maker anywhere on the hat. A tag says its a small and 100% wool. http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb241/hoose55/JulyRyan029-1.jpg That looks an awful lot like the LL Bean I have from the same time frame. Unfortunately, either my head has grown or the hat has shrunk. I sus...
