Re: The Best A2 for the buck?
I bought a US Wings Goatskin A-2-2000 last August. I wore it all winter long, nearly every day. It still looks brand new. The quality is excellent. It is not 100% accurate to the WWII jackets, but certainly close enough for me. For a price of $195.00, this is my recommendation for the “best bang for...

Re: Indy's carry-on bag?
I must admit, I was completely surprised when I found this bag. The price tag said $25.00. At first I thought it was $250.00 which might have been a reasonable price for a piece in this condition. Just as a joke I asked the proprietor if he would take $20.00 for the bag and he said OK. I treated it ...

Re: Indy's Suitcase
I found the bag in an antique store in a small town in Missouri wine country (Yes, Missouri does have vineyards). It is made of VERY HEAVY cowhide, has all brass hardware and is leather lined. It even came with the key to the lock. The best I can tell is it was made in either the 40’s or 50’s. There...

This looks pretty close to the Gladstone used in Crystal Skull.
What do you think?

I used Distress Ink around the seams. Fire place ashes will give it a “used” look.
Drop some black coffee on it too.

Here are a couple of pictures of my Gladstone travel bag. I got it in an antique store. It’s very heavy cowhide with all brass hardware and leather lined. The dimensions are 22” length x 9’ wide x 10” high. It appears to have been made in the 40’s or 50’s. Not a bad bag for $20.00! Regards, Forresta...

Re: Indy bag for a camera bag.
I use my MkVI as a camera bag all the time. I went to the fabric store and bought some cloth that is quilted and has padding. I made a protective sleeve for my video camera. It’s easy to slip the camera in and out of the sleeve as I need it; the padded sleeve provides protection to the camera when i...

I just happened to be in an Old Navy store last Friday, 10-31-08 and saw that shirt. It is regularly $24.95, they had a $10.00 off sale; for $14.00 it is a good buy. As to the sizing, I found that it runs a bit small. I needed a size larger than normal. But for $14.00 bucks, I bought two. Regards, F...

First of all you should NEVER dye the underside of the strap. Tandy leather sealer works well for me. After the sealer dried, I coated the strap with Pecards. You can buy leather sealer from Tandy leather. If you have a store in your area take the strap there and they will show you just what you need. I made my own strap. Dyed it, sealed it, punched the holes and put in the Chicago screws; all purchased from the Tandy store in South St. Louis. I’ve never ...

I would suggest getting a musette bag.
I use one every day. They “take a licking and keep on ticking”
I bought a WWII musette bag shoulder strap too.
Click the link and scroll down the page to see the bag.

It seems to me that a college professor in the first half of the 20th century would more likely smoke a pipe, not cigars. Pipe smoking was much more prevalent back then.
