Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...

My new Penman is here (my fourth)! Beautiful Moss Green with matching vintage ribbon, three inch brim, ordered open crown so I could put my own touches on it. Bashed it like a 1920s vintage Capone fedora. I call it "the Snorky". Oak's work is excellent work! He outdid himself on this one. ...

I've got to agree with Maboot38, just be glad you have hair! Ah, I can remember those days (long ago.) Hat hair was a problem, but hats are so cool I really didn't care. Now, hats are what keep my dome warm. You cold be like a friend of mine who went bald at a very early age. He too wore a hat and I...

I only have a dozen or so hats now. I've worn hats for over 40 years, and like others have said, people don't recognize me without one. Since I've gotten my Penman Raiders, I've worn it daily except for today. In this icestorm I've opted for my fur trooper since our power has been out for two days n...

Penman Quandry

My Steel Gray Penman arrived today! My wife took some quick pics of my Steel gray and my Raiders, just for comparison. Now I'm in a quandry as I can only wear one hat at a time and I love both of these! Oak, you were right about the felt on the steel grayt, it has a richer texture than the Raider. W...

Black Aldens

Schmidty,
Keep us posted on this. I would love a pair in black. These are absolutely the BEST shoe/boot I've ever worn. Made a huge difference in my back pain, plus the fine fit and room for my orthotics.
Best,
KY

I have a wonderful Penman and another on order. As a hat wearer for over 40 years, I think my Penman is the best I've ever owned (and that includes my older Stetsons and some other custom hats too). However, it's the only "Indy" hat I have so I can't compare it with the other hats you've l...

I've known several who've had problems with the PPK slide bite. I've never been affected by it. I like the KelTecs. They're well made and reliable, just too light for me. I owned a guns shop for a few years and they were a popular seller, especially as a back up for LE. You can wear one in an ankle ...

Great tips on the bag layout. I, too, carry my bag quite a bit. My digital camera fits perfectly in one of the center spaces. (My stainless Interarms PPK goes in the inside pocket of my Wested-I like to keep it close.) The small divider you place your MiniMag in holds my AAA batteries for my digital...

hat size

Before I ordered I measured my dome twice wth two different tapes, just to be sure (what's the old saying about measuring twice, cut once?). I measured where the bottom of my hat normally sits on my head and sent that to John. It fit like a custom hat should. No play, no excess, no having to tug it ...

hh jacket

Yes, Holt, i did have to use a flash for the pics. conceited, you are correct, it's an OTR Raider. Beautiful dark brown. It's been rainy here so I haven't even seen it in true light yet. Feels great, and yes, it's heavy, but not as heavy as my old Berman's cowhide A2. I turn 55 this month, so this j...

jacket

Thanks, Holt. I REALLY like it. It's been years since I've had a leather jacket. Just dug out my old one and gave it to my oldest son. He can still fit into it (my youngest son shot up to 6'2" and can't wear any of my clothes-which is a relief!) I looked at what was available and it seemed the ...

My new Wested

My HH Wested Raiders arrived today. Perfect! I'm having trouble getting my pics to resize correctly in photobucket so I'll have to post them later. Just wanted all to know it came in and it's great. Fit is perfect, craftsmanship too. Think I'll wear it to bed. Less than three weeks between order and...

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I really love this hat! My wife got amused the other night because I was sitting in my chair watching TV with the hat on. Gee, I even hate to take it off for bed. Great workmanship!

Now, if my Wested HH wil just get here.

Best,
KY

It's here! My Penman has arrived.

About a month sooner than I expected and way too cool for words. (First time in my life having a big head has paid off.) Here's some quick shots. Just had to share. Thanks, John. It's the finest hat I've ever owned. http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr1/wagg2/PICT0133.jpg http://i464.photobucket.co...

Great looking jacket! I've got my Wested on order. Last email said it was being made so should have it soon. I'm hard on leather jackets. I'll only have the one (my son ended up with my last two-I'm still a growing boy lol) anyway, I opted for the horsehide. Not SA but VERY durable. i can't believe ...

I've got a charcol gray AB on order. It will be my "dress" hat. I've heard so many great things about them I had to get one. I too, am new to Indy fan sites but I'm catching up quick. I've worn a hat (not a cap) for over 40 years now, mainly Stetsons, but the quality and material of Indy f...
