Re: RAIDERS Bag Strap Revelation
IMO, that just doesn't seem long enough to fit Harrison Ford, who at the time, was about 6’2” tall. You posted this as a statement of fact and leaves it open to scrutiny. As mentioned people here cannot accept any other conclusion. Its just not within the relm of fandom possibility. Carrie Fisher i...

Kyle, you make a presumption that Harry Gord had to be about 6'2, in those days and if thats true then he must have done quite a bit of shrinking, around 4" in height. Take a look at this photo. DC is listed as 5'10. https://images.app.goo.gl/gj7a9NJKjKEfReoG9" onclick="window.open(th...

Re: Has anyone seen THIS jacket on Amazon?
I started to open a thread, but I will post it here: I have often looked at Indy jackets from vendors and have wondered why no one is offering a budget conscious jacket with at least most of the specs which are faithful to the film jacket. I believe that there is a void in the market at that price p...

Re: Has anyone seen THIS jacket on Amazon?
Usually, these types of jackets are amalgamations, but for the money, its not bad--if the distressed brown is actually made as the photos shown. Here are the specs that could be improved upon for a Raiders. Jacket in photo is distressed .cowhide and needs to be lamb or even distressed lamb. Snaps on...

Re: The truck jacket WAS the main hero....
If you think through what might have happened, there was a main hero that Ford wore in most of the scenes. A different jacket or jackets were used for the destructive work and stunt work, such as a bullet hole in the upper sleeve, the truck drag, etc. They would have kept or reserved one-the main he...

Re: The truck jacket WAS the main hero....
After the Terry Leonard truck drag and the scene transitions back to Ford, it is unclear if the main hero is used again, due to blurry action stills, the jacket wrinkling on certain panels, etc. After this sequence, the main hero is not used again and we transition to the dock, which was filmed at L...

Once, I waited for a rain shower and got a LC jacket in authentic lamb wet and it seemed to really soak it up. As it was drying naturally, did the wrinkled sleeve action, etc. Generally, I don't recommend water because the leather is organic material and takes the natural oils out of the leather, bu...

there is something about a well worn jacket, hat or shoes that becomes part of a person. It depends on where the hide/skin is sourced, if it is tanned with a more natural process, ie veg. or chromium. Color and type of leather dye, etc. Cowhide can be sued...

I think the key to the Indy look is that the hat looks used, worn in, a part of the character. When an add on, or article of clothing looks a part of someone, it becomes indistinguishable from them as a person, and becomes a part of their persona-identity. Other than possibly the Michael Douglas cha...
