Re: RIP Joe Peters
It was a beautiful service. Big turn-out, and of course, lots of hats present. We were actually all asked to wear our hats indoors for the service. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Peters family. Joe was a good employer, a great hatmaker, and the best of men. He left a big hole in the world and...

They send via FedEx for stuff within the continental US, and USPS for International stuff. Generally speaking, once they've received the order, you won't hear back unless there's a question in the shop. If you gave your email on order, you'll get a shipping confirmation email. Just wanted to let everyone know I no longer work at PB hats. It was an amiable parting, nothing bad at all, but I figured I'd let you folks know. Very true. But whether it shrinks or not, just giving it the curl has (in my experience) given it the snug fit around the crown.BendingOak wrote:Pure rayon will not shrink with just water. You will need to iron. In fact it will expand. If it shrinks with just water it is at the very least a blend.

You might consider adding a curve or "arch" to the ribbon with an iron. This link shows the idea for an interior hat band, but the same principle works for the outer ribbon. http://www.hatsupply.com/pdf/tutorials/RibbonSwirlingForHeadSizeBand.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href)...

I'm actually curious as to a somewhat common custom we've adopted today; if hats were such a social "requirement" back in the day, and literally every man wore them, was the courtesy of removing one's hat indoors in place as well? Watching older movies and such lead me to believe that, no,...

Aye, hair length / amount is a major factor. When I cut my hair in May, my Camptown that used to give me a headache if I wore it for any longer than a minute fit like a glove. Of course, now that my hair has grown back out quite a bit, the Camptown doesn't fit again. #-o Good Christmas present idea....
