Re: When/how was the Raiders Turn Discovered?
Wasn't it around 2008 when Desi came forward with the screen-used Raiders hat that a lot of details like the turn, folded sweatband, brim measurements, ribbon characteristics, etc were confirmed?

Re: Construction question- Wested jacket owners
Very interesting! My 2001 Wested has it folded under - this jacket is so old and was made by Peter himself so it probably is not even relevant to the conversation other than to mention how Peter made them. My circa 2008 Standard TOD Wested has either a fold or maybe the edge has been beveled and bla...

Re: Construction question- Wested jacket owners
The Legacy jackets are meant to be exact (or very close) copies of the jackets made for the films - that is, they were made quickly for use as a movie costume, and without a lot of the frills you would get with an off the rack jacket. They are different from Wested's standard offerings which are bui...

Re: Wested Jacket Pre-Distressed Hide vs Goat
Wested's predistressed hide is a cowhide (unless you get the predistressed lamb option) and is pretty thick & heavy. It is a good cold-weather jacket, but will not drape the same way as the jackets in the films. There will also be a break-in period for the leather as it's pretty thick and stiff ...

Re: Wested Lead Time Recently?
Mick has posted recently that all their jackets are currently essentially custom made, the volume of orders from the Indy 5 style jacket has meant they have no down time to make the OTRs. Current production time is about 28 days. https://thumbs4.imagebam.com/63/2f/0c/MEIJKAK_t.jpg Where did he post...

Re: US Wings Jackets - Opinions
They are my go-to everyday jackets, and for those who want a sturdy Indy jacket for life they are my #1 recommendation. They are not totally screen accurate on the details, but they are very much Indy jackets and incredibly durable (to the degree I suspect we all grew up imagining Indy's jacket to b...

Re: Older Wested Jacket
Hard to tell from looking at what the hide is, but I can tell you Wested's predistressed cowhide from around that era fades that way. I have one from around 2001 that is similar in color.

I figured I would add, this whip cracks fairly well in the hands of a novice such as myself. I hadn't handled a whip in nearly 20 years when this was filmed (incidentally, Jessica who also appeared in the video had never handled a whip but seemed to be a natural with it!): http://myspacetv.com/index...

I think how it was stored may definitely play a part. I've got an original that was battlefield used, and then owned by a fisherman. It never sat around in a box or anything like that. It definitely shows some wear but shows no signs of crapping out on me any time soon. In contrast, I got an unissue...

I've gotten that first bag posted. The seller is very good, I got my order from across the pond in a week! The bag is not screen accurate but with a little work, you can get it pretty close. I removed the aforementioned brass studs and replaced them with snaps, and sewed the corners down to get the ...

lol its a part from an old broken cd player. It had the right look to it so I popped it apart, made a small incision in the fabric, and put it back together. I just picked up a (very) used MKVII that someone had cut the O-rings off of, so I took the webbing off the sides to begin restoration. The bag is very tan, but underneath the webbing you can see the original coloring which seems to be an olive-green. Behold: http://www.keyboardconspiracy.com/faded....

Thanks Jonathan. Did you use the dressing or the lotion? I am considering getting my jacket wet just to make it fit me better, but I am approaching that idea with fear and trembling, too. Get it wet and then use the lotion, or use the lotion and then get it wet? Do nothing and enjoy the velvetiness...

Hey gang. About 5 or 6 years ago I bought a pre-distressed cowhide from Wested. I was (am) a novice when it comes to leather, and this jacket saw a lot of abuse with no treatment! When it was new it had a dark chocolate color but over time it turned a very light brown. Some pics I have of the jacket...
