you don't have to bust the center bar to put the buckles in. just find a really good tailor that can utilize the same holes for the new stitching. i did that on my washed goat wested. she did a bang up job on it....kinda pricey, but it was very well done. If you call and ask, wested will send you the rectangular rings. You can easily change them yourself with a pair of pliers. Gemma at Wested actually offered to send me some without my even asking! I expect them next week. I did order some from a company here in the US but didn't like them that much...

I just dropped off a pair of Westeds and a pair of NH pants to the tailor to have her hem my pants and I asked for a 3" hem. I think if you are going for SA pants it's a must for the 3 to 4 inch hem . Just my 2 cents. Since the Westeds come with the unfinished leg at 35" and I'm a 31, AND...

Added to the "what's so special about the pants" line, I was reading on the Indygear pants page that the normal hem for a military pant (and for the movie) was around 3-4 nches. You can see it in the pics but I wonder how noticable it is "in person". It looks like not even Wested...

About those Pockets

Does the pocket flap shape vary scene to scene and/or movie to movie?

The flaps here look a lot more pointed, and deeper at the point, than what I see being sold as authentic.

It looks good! It'll look better with age. By the way, what kind of hat are you sporting? The hat is my first, a Keppler. I measure 22" and got a size 7. It was perfect right out of the box and Lee was great to work with. (I just got a grey Fed IV today and will posts shots in that thread.) .....

I wore my new Keppler outside the house for the first time today. Since it's cool out now, and I haven't much on top anymore, it felt good to have a hat on. Surprisingly, no-one said a thing or even gave it a look - at least that I could see - which is fine. That people weren't aware of it that much...

I ordered a wested Raiders dark lamb a few weeks ago. It'll be my first jacket so hope I did the right thing.

Actually, as I recall, it was not only something added as they 'went along', but something Peter and co. did when they kept getting complaints that the strap kept pulling out of the seam of the jackets with use. It just made sense to make the change for the stronger 'x' box and eliminate that tear....
