Some Todds Costumes Product Endorsements:The Gear is AWESOME

Hi everyone! I got a shipment from Todds costumes that I ordered in mid may last week, and though the hold up was frustrating, the gear was well worth the wait. THE INDY SHIRT : I love it! I have owned several other indy shirts and this is is the best fit for the size the and the best value for the ...

Not to spoil the SA party, but

Hi, I don't to spoil the SA party, but I just wanted to mention, as lots of people are "me too"ing the above jacket specs that the 1 piece gusset may not be completely SA. Though there are many who would argue that with so many jackets used in production, there is no such things as exactly...

I think that might be the deciding vote

Thanks for the advice. I think that might be the deciding tip right there. If I'm to expect some non-weight related shape shifting still to occur, then this may be the time to get an off the rack, so a definitive "this jacket will be made custom to look great on you for the rest of your life&qu...

ORDER STATUS UPDATE

Thank you guys for all of your feedback! Based on what you've said, and a little extra reading I've been doing, I think this is where I'm at at the current moment... Wested custom orders seems to be sort of hit or miss and they're customer service has something to be desired. So if I go with a weste...

Blow my mind!

Wow! You're right! I never realized. I always thought that the later jackets were bigger, because they seemed bulkier. But they're actually more fitted, so it must just have been Harrison bulking up! lol --If there was a blow-my-mind emoticon, it would be here right now. I have read the longer argum...

Wested Comparisons With Photos: Custom vs. Special Offer

Hi everyone, So I'm trying to decide between getting a Wested Special Offer Raiders jacket getting a Custom Raiders jacket. I understand that there's a difference in their patterns and specs, so at this point the decision comes down to pics. Does anyone have both who can offer comparison advice and/...

I think I'm going with a wested, but which one?

After seeing all of the Wested pics (especially KT 's 10 year old beauty) I think I'm going to go with a wested goat. It certainly seems like a testament to their durability and construction. Also, they made the original Raider's jacket, and a bit of a sucker I'm a sucker for "authenticity"...

LC Fit

Was the LC a tighter fit?
CS if definitely on the baggier side. Or at least a bigger feeling jacket.

If it's gonna last, it's gotta look good.

Durability and Quality definitely trump the cheapest price, but I also think that with that philosophy I can only afford to but a jacket once. lol Given that, my first priority is aesthetic quality, is it going to look good on me if it lasts for 15 years, second is durability--could it last for 15 y...

Measurements and Sizing -- Wested Questions

I finally got myself to a tailor to have myself measured to see what size jacket I'd best fit into, or what I'd need for a custom order, and this is what I came up with... Height: 5' 10.5" Chest: 39" Shoulder (Full): 18.5" Shoulder (Half): 7" Sleeve Length: 25.5" Back Length...

Now, I only want to do this once...Magnoli vs Wested vs G&am

Hi everyone, I've been waiting for my piggy bank to tell me that I'm ready to get my first Indy jacket, and up until this point I'd been pretty set on a Wested Raiders. However, after seeing Holt's ToD Magnoli (which looks beautiful), finding that the Wested customization options have fallen dramati...

As tough as tough is

I suppose another question to ask yourself to is: WHAT DO I PLAN TO WEAR MY JACKET FOR? Everyday wear? Costuming? Limited wear? etc. Keep that in mind when ordering as well. Honestly, mostly day to day wear. But I'm sort of going the same way they went when making the adventurebilt fedora-- I want ...

Built Ford Tough

I've read that before. I'm figuring I"ll go with the goat, which i hear is pretty indestructible. I was wondering more if there is a durability difference in the construction? As long as i get the right hide, can the 80's cut still jump over barbed wire and roll over rocky coastline?

Durability and 80's Fit

How's the durability on 80's fit?
I understand that the standard is supposed to have modifications to it to make it tougher, ex. the heavier zipper. How does the 80's fit hold up in comparison? Can it take a beating?

How did you even GET THIS?

How did you even GET this jacket? From what I've been reading in other threads, Wested has cut down their customization options by a lot. (Which you can see by mere 3 or 4 options on their website). How did you get them to agree to this many tweaks and personal specs? Also, how long was the wait tim...

Wested Customer Service

I'm begining to get the feeling Wested customer service leaves a bit to be desired. Have you considered a jacket from a different source? Not bashing Wested as the products are probably fine, but simple answers to simple questions shouldn't feel painful. Their customer service, at least by e-mail h...

Hot Tip on Farnum's

Just to re-iterate, in case it hasn't been said in this post, but 6pm.com is a great place to get deals on Farnum's. I got a pair of dark brown from there (which is usually 125.00 plus S&H) for $75. THey took a week to break in, but now they're my favorite shoes I own. I still need to get to the...

I know... but it'd be pretty awesome if they could! And make trying to make sure to get the right lengths and measurements so much easier! O:)

Re: Size Long for proper sleeve length?

Is it better to get a size long to ensure proper sleeve length? I'm 5'11" chest 40, and I debating if I should size L for sleeves, but then I'm not sure if that will make the jacket hang too low. Best bet would be to order a custom jacket.....that way there won't be any "surprises." ...

Wested Custom Raiders: Ironing Out the Details

I am on the market for a custom raiders jacket, and I've been researching the forum pretty intensely for the last month or so on just this topic. Which has left me with a few questions and looking to verify I few details. This is what I've got so far... Jacket style : There seems to be standard cut ...
