Unfortunately, I need the money more than I need an AB so I had to cancel my order. I'm just waiting for Steve to get back to me, he hasn't replied to my e-mail I sent last week and a recent PM. Hopefully I can get one again in the near future. I was a late order, April 2008...so I doubt he has even...

Keep in mind too that with an 80's fit you can't wear much thick clothing under it. It fits quite snug to the body so the most you could wear is a long sleeve sweater/t-shirt if it isn't too puffy. I keep my 80's fit for the Fall-like weather and use my Standard (which i can fit a fleece or somethin...

Just got this puppy in over the weekend! Unfortunately I could only crack it on Sunday (we had Hurricane Hanna bringing down A LOT of rain here in Virginia on Sat.) and it works like a dream. I know this is one that we've all seen many times before but what the heck, show them off right? An 8 foot. ...

I've spoken about this before but you can clearly notice the difference in the handles from the Morgan to the Jacka. I actually prefer the Morgan-style handle because the Turk's head knot is a natural flow from the handle to the tear-drop shape. When I grip my Joe Strain RAIDERS' whips, I feel a muc...

1. You have a JOE STRAIN WHIP, this is most important. He is the man and one of the best whipmakers around today. RESPECT THAT WHIP. 2. Like it was mentioned before, practice on grass...rough ground and gravel is NOT good for the whip as it will damage the leather. 3. If you didn't buy a whipcrackin...

My advice is that you've lost it. 8) I would never EVER give up a Strain for a Morgan. Maybe that's just me but Joe Strain's work is art and you are getting a whip that I would say is vastly superior to what Morgan's shop puts out nowadays (for half the price too!). If having a whip with that ...

I followed some advice from my fellow whip-crackers here and on MOST of my cracks I go AGAINST the curve. Especially on the flicks and I feel it produces a louder crack because it is the OPPOSITE of where the whips want to go, perhaps giving it that extra resistance when the whip is flicked out and ...
