Re: Todd's Costumes Restocking S&W Bapty
Can anyone explain to me - why did the price jump from $195 to $449.95? Also, some of the photos show an orange tip on the barrel, and some appear all black. Which is accurate for a customer in the US? Thanks

Re: Shirting matters
Living in southern California, which is basically a desert, the Raiders shirt is the only piece of gear that I really wear on a regular basis, especially in the summertime. And with very little to do in this very unusual year, my near-lifelong quest for the perfect Raiders shirt has taken on a life ...

Obviously, yes, it was tailored in 1979. And it was tailored to look like a 1930s shirt.

Re: Todd's Shirts 2020 Run
Feel like I'm a broken record here, but can someone suggest that for $125, we at least get an accurate button count? Six buttons; not seven. Such an obvious detail that almost everyone overlooks. Six buttons is period accurate to the 1930s. Seven-button shirts didn't come along until the 70s or 80s.

Thanks, Dalexs. Good to see you, too. Yes, I remember following your instructions to un-dye and re-dye my Noel Howard shirt, which sadly fell apart years ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you the man who first suggested 'The Turn?' That seems to be a taken-for-granted fact now, but as I recal...

With the California lockdown now entering month 4 and not a lot going on, I find myself returning to my Indygear roots. It's an exercise in double nostalgia now (or perhaps triple nostalgia?) -- nostalgia for the joyful hours I used to spend on this site in the early 2000s, a time when I was being n...

Re: Indy Shirt - Best option these days
Just glancing at the Wested shirt, it looks like it has too many buttons (I count eight buttons, and they appear to be spaced too close together), and the pockets look big to me. The Azuma shirt looks great. I got an affordable-ish Magnoli off-the-rack shirt just the other day, and am wearing it now...

Does Wested have a TN-like leather?
Hello all. I haven't posted in quite a while, and I don't follow the forum daily so forgive me if this has already been asked. I really like the look of the Tony Nowak jackets, at least the crinkly leather. But I'm not wild about the loud label or the huge paragraph of writing on the inside, and $97...

Hope you gun experts don't mind my posting this here. I was going thru photos of my grandparents and came across this one of my grandfather. Well, everything I've read about Harrison Ford points to a rather fastidious person. He picks his words carefully when he speaks. I read that he is involved in all phases of character development, right down to what kind of gun they carry and what kind of shoes they wear. There's the story where he ...

The impression I got was that he was trying to act aloof by pretending not to know the character's real name. I'm sure he's long forgotten everything about the jacket and hat except that they were leather and felt, but I don't think he would've forgotten what Indy's name was. He was just trying to ...

I can't recommend his shirt enough. Um, yeah, I second that opinion. The Noel Howard shirts are hands down my favorite, though not everyone agrees. They are ultra-light-weight, so not for cold winter wear, but for tropical wear they are tops. I dyed my first Raiders shirt off-white, and wore it unt...

I bought a Homburg on ebay, which hasn't arrived yet, and I'm wondering: is it possible to bash a homburg into a fedora and wear it that way without altering the bound brim edge? I think Fedora said he bought an HJ Homburg but altered it by removing that ribbon. Contrary to conventional wisdom, I ki...

Those straps in those screen grabs could just as easily be facing forward. If they were bowing out to the side (away from the jacket), you'd still see them sticking out. It's like an optical illusion. Just use your imagination and try to see them facing forward. Even if they are facing backward, if ...

I think back in the days when there was still such a thing as etiquette in America, men unbuttoned their suit jackets before sitting. Unless it was a double-breasted jacket. Indy didn't carry a wallet - he left it in Harrison Ford's civilian clothes. His pockets and even his bag were always empty, until he needed to pull something out of them, and then the item would magically appear. Frank Sintatra carried one key that could open all the doors in all his houses so that...

My darling wife MACHINE WASHED and TUMBLE DRIED my Noel Howard TOD trousers yesterday, failing to notice a stain, which now appears to be permanently set.
