Re: The "Camptown" Fieldmaster N' Metropolitan display

Here's my '45. I haven't wore it in a while, so it hasn't received the love it deserves

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues.

Just noticed - Does HardBop have his crease misaligned? Looks like he may be missing all of that swoopy joy one gets from the 'turn'. Ian The hat was on and off all afternoon that day. So it probably wasn't on straight when I took the pics Nice pics Dave Sweet collection DanielJones. I was planning...

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I haven't been able to wear my lid at all this summer because it's 90 plus here in NY Oak, I don't mind if you post the pics on your facebook page HardBop, you look fantastic in that hat! It just looks GREAT on your head! Thanks for sharing the pictures! Did you ...

Thanks for posting those pics. I haven't been able to wear my Metro as much as I would like, but I'm looking forward to putting in some serious wear this fall

YOU do that WELL, my friend!! :M:

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...

I haven't been around in a while but I wanted to drop in to spread some Penman love. That green Penman is an instant classic. Here's a quick pick of my Penman. I've had it since September and it's really starting to come alive. Thanks again John http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq291/Omnibus_77/P3...

Thanks for the tip Dragonlady Jones. I have no complaints so far especially since price was such less than $325.

Re: The Penman post 'em up Pages....The Adventure Continues...

I figured I would join in on the fun and post a couple of pics of my new Penman. I'm amazed at how soft the felt is. I'm working on getting the bash the set in. I'm seriously considering sending my Camptown Metro to John for a reblock and a new ribbon. http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq291/Omnibu...

Hat looks great! Suits you. You wouldn't happen to be a Coltrane fan with a name like Hardbop? Thanks. After the long wait, I'm very happy with it. I like Coltrane, but I'm more of a Jazz Messengers fan. I happened to be listening to one of their albums when I was registering and it was the first u...

Please do HardBop, that would be great to see. Post here if you like. Here's my Metro '45. It still needs work, but I'm happy with it so far. It originally had a CS bash but I've since changed it to a Non Indy look. http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq291/Omnibus_77/IMG_1771-1.jpg http://i457.phot...

Hey Venkman, My Metro '45 had the same problem. It fit well in the front and back but there were gaps on the sides. I decided just to wear to see if it would conform to my head shape. I also used a hat stretcher to change the shape a little. I didn't actually stretch the hat, I just set the stretche...

Hey Gang, I just received this a couple of days ago. This is my first bash. Actually, it's my first real fedora. I'm still working on the bash, but I'm impressed that it didn't take much work to acheive a look I'm happy with. I think I'll probably tighten the pitch a little more. I'm not used to the...

Forget the mannequin, you have to wear this jacket. It looks great. You didn't go too far with the distressing. The back of your jacket is perfect.

Rundquist - I think I did have it have it pretty easy. As soon as I found this site, I found the jacket I've wanted for years. Not a musician, just a fan of the hardbop subgenre of jazz. It's just the first username I could come up with. I was listening to an Art Blakey album when I was registering....

Thanks for the welcome. I definitely recommend a novapelle for anyone that doesn't want to risk ruining a jacket by going to far with sandpaper, etc.

I'm very curious to see how my jacket will look in a couple of years once I've fully broken it in.

Thanks, guys. Everyone's opinions on the board helped me decide on the jacket I purchased. Before it arrived I was a little nervous because a few people seemed to have problems with the fit but it's perfect on me. I wasn't sure how dark Pecard would make the jacket but it didn't get too much darker....

First Post, First Jacket

I stumbled across this site a couple of weeks before the Indy IV trailer popped up and after reading a bunch of posts I decided to pick up a Wested LC 80s cut in novapelle. The sleeves and jacket length are both a couple of inches longer than the standard length but that's about it for custom specs....
