Re: RIP Steve Delk - October 2023

Like many here, I never met him, but once had a conversation on here where I mentioned having an odd dream where Steve was sitting at a store front inside some sort of futuristic mall of sorts and yes, he had hand crafted hats for sale. He told me that oddly enough, he had had a similar dream before...

Re: Original Truck Chase Scene Raiders Jacket Recent Photo

Thought it looked pretty legitimate, it seems you always see the jackets sitting on a dark gray backing when it's in the archives too. I really like the collars and the pocket flaps on the jacket. It's lightened up quite a bit with time, still I never liked super dark Raiders jackets. :)

Re: What color was Indy's hat?

It varies a little. Some say it looks lighter on Blu-Ray and insist that is the correct color. Myself, I think it looks best if the hat and the jacket are similarly colored. But I'm probably in the oddball minority. I think most vendors tend to make the jacket too dark these days (whereas they used ...

British Pound-US Dollar almost 1 to 1-time to get a Wested?

Hopefully this is OK to post here. I've been watching as of late, and the British Pound vs. the US Dollar is really dropping like a rock. It's almost a 1 to 1 ratio, which means if you're in the market for a Wested, now would be a good time to buy, at least for Americans...(if they aren't shut down ...

Oh boy, I get to opine on this 10 years after the fact. I think Pecard's is fine for the lifetime of a human. If you want to preserve your jacket for longer than 100 years, then perhaps the oils and waxes, etc. will start to degrade, discolor etc., but probably nothing a fresh coat of the stuff woul...

WPG's run pretty big and they have three locations they ship from, one location is in California. Also Britain and United Arab Emirates. Much better color than other shirts (in my opinion.) It will be interesting to see what Magnoli has up his sleeve though. He's usually Mr. Screen Accuracy.

My money's with Hufvud and Advintage, but nothing wrong with a Penman, he's still the one to base the modern standard on, if you can afford it, go for it. To answer the original question, my opinion is that Herbert Johnson would be good for a generic, amorphous Indiana Jones look, just wouldn't rely...

I voted for #5 just because it seems like a less over-the-top version of #4. Although it is maybe a little harder to picture that as an Indy jacket due to the leather color. I think the #4 texture would be too much all over the jacket, selected penitent patches of it might pass. In my mind something...

I don't know. We're slowly being overun by feral wild pig in the U. S., so an outlet for making jackets out of their tough hides may help erradicate some of the problem. It's really futile anyway. The jacket is an illusion - it's a movie prop viewed through a Panavision lens.
