Henry, I have no reason to question your collection, not being a collector myself I do not now the real deal from a reproduction. I will be the first to admit that I would not have a leg to stand on in a debate about authenticy of any given item. I have no stake in disputing what you contribute her...

However estimates can be placed on items based on thier significance in the film, rarity on the market, trends, and other important pieces that have sold from that film. Yes, but if nobody buys them at the estimated price, then a new market value has been set. So, in the end, all of this is only wo...

Henry, You are entitled to your opinion and the buyer that offered me the $5,000.00 is entitled to his opinion too. I am sure his collection is more extensive than yours so he he can determine what was a fair price to pay me. As far as I know he was not planning on reselling the hat since he was de...

He is happy with the hat and nobody forced him to make me the offer for the hat. It is worth what he was willing to pay for it. No more no less. Furthermore, the day you sell your hat for $20,000 is the day it will be worth $20,000. Until then it is worth exactly what you paid for it. G-MANN Well t...

Thanks so much again for the clarification! Glad to help out. And it reminded me(I had forgotten) that the sample hat had the crested liner, as the other samples did. By the way, those liners in the other hats came from Art Fawcett. Once Steven had picked which hat he wanted, the main order were se...

My screen worn KOTCS hat has a white liner, with logo. Wow, dude you got the rare hat of the group. This hat was the sample hat that accidently got picked up and aged and dyed by the girl at Western Costume. It had the Staff of Ra Headpiece on the liner. This hat is the shorter one that appeared in...

Steve said they all originally shipped with plain white liners - no AB logos inside... so ILM wouldn't have had to brush out any logos anyway. I think the story is they were dyed on set so that they wouldn't reflect as much light. How'd you get a screen used hat? Shane Here is a quote from Steve I ...

It's also testimony to how well a rabbit felt hat holds up, and how well a 100% beaver felt hat holds up to extreme abuse. That's why Steve went on the search for a material that WOULD hold up to Indy's real adventurers. It's plain, as has been pointed out above, a rabbit felt just can't handle it,...

I did come to this site years ago and stated I had the Stetson TOD hat, and I was torn to shreds because I would not provide photos etc, so I never bothered again. I do know that Paramount Studios had thousands of these hats sitting on the shelves in bags, literaly. Henry, that lines up with what Steve Delk and I were told back in the mid 90's by Stetson. It's also why all those Stetson 'Temples' ended up in the hands of companies like Cabella and U. S. Cavalry after the film came out, as the hat deal fell through with Lucas, so they had to 'dump' their hats i...

All a matter of sematics.  The prop master I had a long time 'working relationship' with only referred to the hats used by Ford as 'hero hats', and the ones he handled were all HJ's.
