Alto man myself... As far as the brand goes I'm going to say King (For young Indy that is)... He didn't own the one in the cabin but did use it to save the day and get the sacred pipe back. That was one thing I thought was just a little TOO coincidental - to find a soprano sax in a happened upon cab...

I am tempted... There's really no risk. Whether you use Pecards or Lexol it's a very natural process for leather to darken over time. I believe that sunlight does most the work, while the leather treament product simply replenishes what the sun takes away. Just my theory. ;) Whips, belts, straps, b...

geez sneakertinker, That's a great amount of information. I'm especial interested in the run down of what model shoes were worn when and by who in what film. Now the boots worn by Indy in the truck scene (where we see the close up) definitely do look like the redder colour, more so than the AB's at...

Don't stop by in here near enough anymore...At any rate for those that know me they also know that my favorite piece of gear (and most functional imo) are the boots / shoes... That being said those are just what a pair of Aldens should look like...nevermind treating them like they are made of gold.....

I had one that I purchased because of the connection with Mr. Ford but I ended up selling it as I never wore it...Have 2 Omega's that I never take off...In particular I have an Olympics Limited Edition Omega watch that my wife purchased me as a surprise and that one gets worn a great deal...

To clerify for Mr. Schmidty... The 403's and 404's are indeen scheduled for a spring release but will probably start shipping the first part of the year... As for the 405's they have begun shipping at random...I know of at least 3 people who have ordered the 405 from various places in the last month...

Also here is a little preview of how the Cromexcel Leather of the 403 should look with some wear. This is a pair of Leathersoul's Ultimate Indy's which use the same leather. The only thing that kept me from getting a pair of these was the lack of the cork sole...Seems that problem will be taken care...

While I love my AB Aldens I think the new 403 might be the model for me. Like I said the new leather lining is warmer but as far as comfort is has the old cloth lining beat. Plus to me it seems like the tongue slipping problem is nowhere near as bad when the boots have a leather lining. At any rate ...

From what I was told Chris look for them around the end of January into Feb of next year... They are all going to be fully leather lined like most of the Leathersoul Hawaii pairs are...So instead of the cotton cloth lining that the 405 has now it will be fully leather...Very comfy but a bit hot in t...

Can't say I'm 100% on the leather lining but hey it is what it is...Leather lining is more comfy but it sure does get hot when it's warm outside...Just have to wait and see though... I've been pretty much able to generate the color of the 403's with my current boots but there is something to the tex...

Less than a $100 mark up from the standard 405's is a great deal...Especially with the leather lining and a Screen Accurate boot color. Count me in G. The very first link is the current 405's Alden is offering and you can get those shoes from Alden directly for the same price. The other ones I am not too sure about, they look like a lighter color. These are Aldens, but the AB Alden is a horse of a different color. The boot/shoe is very different ...

With Pecards they will last forever...Worn my Original pair a great many times in the rain and general wet conditions with no adverse reaction...Feet stay nice and dry...

Since we are posting pictures of our darkened Alden's...This is the reason I won't be buying a pair of the J Crew's...Because my self darkened pair looks almost just like them with no extra stitching and no price mark up... Seems Alden marks up all their items if it's a custom made order...Like these J Crews for example... Look at it this way...In order to complete a custom run of 405 boots, even if it's just the leather color, that means Alden has to go out of their normal routine to get the material needed adding man...

Also the price being quoted at $200 is wrong as well...I believe the actual price was somewhere in the range of $395 to $425... For those of you interested J Crew also has a few pairs of Aldens Long Wing Model shoes for sale now in limited edition leathers and colorways...Very nice indeed...Not sure...

Guys I think some of you are under the impression that those are close enough's or altered after they were produced...In fact that is an Alden Indy boot...Just in a special makeup done by the folks at J Crew... Much like Leathersoul has their special make ups...Adventurebilt has theirs...and Schmidt...

VERY stylish!!! I had NO idea that they'd go THAT well with a black suit :clap: The die I referred to is the Logo on the inside of the boot. The first batch had the current version of the Alden Logo inside of the boots, now we have the same logo as it was used on the boots 30 years ago :D Otherwise...

yeh I used a blow dryer on low heat, maybe I was doing something wrong......these are the steps I took in this order. 1) used blow dryer to warm up the leather 2) applied pecards and rubbed well in whilst the leather was still warm 3) repeated the same process on each boot 4) used the blow dyer aga...

Congrats my friend...Those boots are going to get nice a molded to your foot then your never going to want to take them off...I guarantee it...

They have become my favorite piece of gear...now I'm up to 4 pairs and thinking of getting a pair done in snuff suede...We'll see though...

I tried the old pecard and heat treatment over a number of days on my Todd's boots but it doesn't seem to have made any difference to the colour....if it has then it is only slightly and not very noticable. So either I am doing something wrong in the process or the leather on the boots won't darken...

How do you plan to test this? I mean you can look and say one leathers' thicker or one feels softer, etc. The only reasonably fair test would be like Consumer Reports does; maybe a machine to simulate six months of wear or some other destructive experiments to show how the stitching holds up.
