Re: 3D Printed Indy Revolver
Update! So a couple of months ago my brother finally gave me the printed revolver pieces. I'm not sure if it was the type of machine he was using or the type of material, but the pieces are not very dense and the texture is sort of honeycombed. Might dabble with some filler and sanding before painti...

Re: 3D Printed Indy Revolver
Actually I was hoping for a quality holster filler as well, so I agree a decent paint job should suffice. My current holster prop is a cheap toy I bought at a flea market so at this point anything is an upgrade.

Also his grips are not checkered. That'll be interesting to figure out how to do. Actually, that was my concern with the files I found as well. I considered maybe "scoring" the plastic with a sharp blade but that would be tedious at best. Option 2 was to just not sand the grips after prin...

Great job on the hat! My first time blocking a hat was a nightmare, but it got a little easier each time. Do you have a flange for the brim? If not I would suggest trolling ebay or etsy, unless you have the funds for a good one (they can be upwards of $175!). I recently found a vintage 3" brim ...

Has anyone tried 3D printing an Indy gun or found good plans online? These are the best I've found on the web so far, I might give them a try on my brother's printer:

What's the Cairo treatment?
The SoC fedora is arguably the most iconic fedora in the whole series, mostly because it seems to be the most unique. It's worn out, misshapen, sweat stained, and yet somehow still handsome (which is how I feel after the gym  ). I know none of the vendors will divulge their secrets or propriet...

Re: Should I Trim the Brim?
One thing I've found with Indy fedoras, especially since they have exaggerated features (i.e. tall crown, wide brim, tight pinch), is that the "look" is entirely dependent on the head and face shape. The original specs were meant for Harrison Ford, who had a square jaw and a long head back...

Re: Wested Shirt Color
Hi Green, The Wested shirt is a polyester/cotton mix rather than 100pct cotton and it will absorb less colour from the formula. That's a really important point. This method was only ever tested with 100% cotton. I've used RIT remover on both NH shirts, and LLBean (which were VERY hard to get the co...

I tend to be wary of bleach after bad experiences with splotches and weakening the fabric. In small doses though, it might be a good option since the raiders shirt, especially in the Cairo rooftop scenes, looks like a very light stone gray.

Has anyone tried to dye a Wested Indy shirt? I recently bought one, and while the material and the fit are fantastic, the color is a bit on the yellow side. I've used Rit "Pearl Gray" to turn tan items to more of a stone color (did it for a flight suit and a close-enough Indy shirt) but I ...

I think with Indy fedoras, the old saying “you get what you pay for” is definitely true. Most of the Indy-style fedoras on the general market, though affordable, are cheap costume hats. However, between the COW vendors and the established brands like Akubra, Herbert Johnson, etc. there’s no shortage...

So I recently purchased a vintage cowboy hat from ebay with the intention of renovating it into a nice new hat. The problem is that the hat wreaks of smoke.
