Re: Post your Adventurebilts here!
Let me say this, I know firsthand that Steve is working on hats like a madman, and he doesn't take any shortcuts on quality to save time. Every hat I've seen of his has been absolutely TOP NOTCH made with the utmost care and precision. So if someone had ordered a hat in March 2008 and not yet recei...

Re: Adventurebilt Status Update Anyone?
Still waiting on my March 2008 order. Emailed Steve in June to confirm address, etc., and got a brief acknowledgement, but nothing since.

Re: Adventurebilt Status Update Anyone?
I ordered my AB brown Crystal Skull from Steve in March 2008. Do you think I'll get it before the year is out?

Re: AB orders 2008
So… if I ordered my brown Crystal Skull fedora in March 2008, will I receive it before September? I'm skipping the country around then and it would be a pain to have to send it overseas.

Re: March 08 order
I don't think anyone commented on this the first time; my size is a 58 cm. Still possible that I'll get it before 2009?Ozraptor wrote:I ordered my CS brown fedora on the 16th of March. At the time Steve promised that I'd get it before the end of the year; is that still likely to happen?

I honestly think the Wested version has more character than the film-used jacket. Although Peter still hasn't got the pockets looking as good as they can. Why does it have to be an extra-special request every time in order to get nice shapely pockets? Are they harder somehow? Those pockets look pret...

Is the side seam meant to look that way? On the Wested's they are strong overlapping seams like those on the shoulders - here they are different. It does look like a smashing jacket, however. Wested didn't make the original. Cooper(s?) did, in the USA. I personally think it's a smashing design too—...

So, you're saying the shirt won't go down from $58? Or is that the new cheaper price anyway? Given that the buy-me button is not up on the website, how do I go about ordering one? Any news about the different colours? I'd love a blue or dark brown or green one. Who will win the Democratic Primaries?...

I just got my Magnoli bag yesterday—it's beaudiful! But because I could not bring myself to pay $35-45 on the strap I have a very ghetto temporary one—a brown belt held on by keyrings (the round metal ones). The best news is that it perfectly fits my travel scrabble set in one compartment and a nalg...

That's really interesting. I'm glad Bernie didn't go for as much of a 'cowboy hat' look with regards the sides of the brim, and the degree of upwards curl—is it just me, or does the hat in LC look incongruous with a suit because of that 'cowboy curl'? It makes it look less like a dressy hat to my ey...

The problem with this jacket in the first place was that it was too soft and supple, because the leather was absurdly thin and stretchy. Sure, it didn't look too bad, but it sure felt strange to handle. It took a couple of water treatments to dry out a bit and start to look and feel more like real l...

Yeah, I have. Both artificially and naturally. I soaked and sanded it (looked much better—hated the look of the leather when I got it, since it seem to have been ironed flat!!). The pigment comes off extremely easily. As in, I can scratch it off with my fingernail if I dig hard enough. The only majo...

Yup, I see what you mean now! I hadn't noticed that feature when I first received my Wested LC and thought there was something wrong! Only slight difference compared to the Noel Howard TOD jacket is the pocket placement—slightly higher on yours; otherwise very very similar! I want one. You should use water trea...

I think that, properly distressed, the Magnoli would look more accurate than most Wested LC jackets! But do you really want to do that? Why not wear the buggery out of it and have the pride of a naturally-distressed jacket decades down the road? This is why youngsters getting a tough jacket at 17-20...

I was thinking of getting a Magnoli Vintage Adventure Jacket—the LC jacket looks great but it's a bit out of my price range. So, if you could get hold of one of the steel-cored bullwhips as used in the film stunts, would it still work even remotely like a regular whip? Could you flick it round a branch, and THEN swing? Or would it have to be secured by hand in between camera shots? Enquiring minds want to know (although I...
