Re: Question about latest run of AB Alden boots
Hi David, Welcome to the site. None of the boots available are completely accurate for the first 3 Indy films. The AB Aldens are closest to being SA for the hero boots that Harrison wears in those films. In CS the hero boots seemed lighter in color to me. I read the boots they used for CS were actua...

Re: Question about latest run of AB Alden boots
All good and valid points on which I agree 100%. It does have a more period feel and I find them very comfortable and the best Indy boot on all fronts. I guess my post was more directed towards Marc and Stefan, if they are aware of the changes made, just in case someone will complain about them.

Question about latest run of AB Alden boots
I recently received my new AB Aldens and I noticed that the liner is now made of leather like all the other Alden 405's and offspring as of late. I'm wondering if this is something that Alden pushed through, because the older AB Aldens seem to have the cotton duck lining. Does this make them less sc...

Hey Pyramid,
Great looking hat and jacket for that matter! In the pic with the Land Rover, your hat looks just like the YIJ hat. Even the ribbon, so I guess it must be the right size. Perhaps you could measure it. It should be 1 7/8 inches.

HJ did make 'em, but _ has already established that the only Australian model he has a receipt for came from David Morgan and it was an Akubra. Deb's statements don't seem to be consistent on these matters, so one should be critical.

It's understandable if you've never been on a set. Harrison's under lighting and Martin is not. Check this pic, where both are in the same gear as above, but also under the shooting lights: http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/uu163/roninbd/grace.jpg I can see you make a valid point, that they would ...

Nope - That is Martin Grace in the background and the shooting is at Elstree... I understand, but the colors of his gear are off when compared to Harrison's. Which leads me to think that perhaps the other gear might have been generics as well. As you said the stuntmen only wore HJ's and perhaps als...

Also took the opportunity of the reply to confirm the stunt men's lids. "Yep they were using genrics unless the shot called for something better." Hmm, I remember in BTS footage and pics seeing people sorta dressed like Indy, but not quite right. Could their other attire also be generics?...

I recreated this same effect by using a rubberband. However, I'm convinced the bulging in the SOC hat came from the hot & sweaty Tunisian conditions. http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/8835/foto575.th.jpg http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/6296/foto585.th.jpg http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/5...

I think what Steve is saying is that the AB is the only fedora exactly the same as the movie version, save for the liner. I think I read it here on COW somewhere. It might also have been that Wested supplied promo material or something. Anyway, Western Costumes indeed made the shirt and pants, so that's what your looking for. However, I don't think they sell to individuals.

Well my first hat was a Fed III Deluxe and although I toyed with it sometime I never really got a good Raiders bash in it. Also the 6" crown was way too high and the color of both the felt and the ribbon never looked right to me. Then I got a Henry when they first came out about a year ago. I c...

From what I read the Uptowner is made from rabbit and the Henry is a 20% beaver blend. Also the Henry has the correct ribbon that only Marc, Steve and, I think, John use.

Fed IV? I also voted CS, because of the straight sides it has. Then if this hat ever becomes tapered, you could always make it into a LC.

That's better.
Yeah, I'd say definately highten the front pinch some and try curling the brim upwards, by rolling it in your hands. However, your brim would be perfect if you're going for the bridge scene in Temple of Doom.

The bag is useful and iconic (not too ironic, if you ask me!)
