Thanks for the advice. I'll probably go for a shorter crown height; I think I prefer it that way. I'm mostly just going to try and get rid of the taper.

Man, that looks amazing!
I guess there would be no harm in trying it. I have a couple of questions, though.
First, how do you cast the plaster into the right shape for the block?
And second, how would I figure out the dimensions I would need?

For that price, it's a steal! This is not a bad thing, but isn't that the same jacket Jerry wears on Seinfeld? I know he had an A-2 like jacket that also had epaulettes on it. Well, I don't watch Seinfeld, so I wouldn't know. They also had some that were distressed brown, like LC and KotKS, but the...

A close-enough from Goody's

I got this as an early Christmas present this weekend. I was at Goody's, and noticed a jacket similar to Indy's that was on sale. Original price was $130, but I got it for $48. It has several non-accurate things (side-entry pockets, waistline, no straps), but for the price, I love it! It's made by a...

My pants, boots, and bag

These are all close-enoughs, but they work great for me. First up, my bag. Not a MkVII; it's an army engineers bag I got for Christmas last year. I use it all the time, so it has some nice authentic wear. The thing that I really like about it is that has a side-bottom zipper that can open up and giv...

My $10 close-enough

I picked up the only toy revolvers, a pair of western cap guns, this week. Been turning one of them into my Raiders gun. I still need to finish the chamber, add some paint, hammer and ring. I'm not going to bother with the sight or trigger, as it will stay in the holster most of the time. http://i3....

Thanks for the compliments and tips. I might wet it down one more time to try and get the shape right. As for sanding Westeds, not a chance in the next 4 years
I wore it to college classes today and was told that it looked like a cross between Indiana Jones and Humphrey Bogart :?

My BCF: A first step

And my first Fedora! I finally had an opportunity to get a $20 fedora from Burlington Coat Factory (the best that a teen without a job can get). After about 2 weeks of shaping, I finally got the nerve to trim off the rolled brim. I'm going for mostly a Raiders look, with LC for the brim. http://i3.p...

My family calls mine a "Man-Bag." But only because that's what someone else called Jack Bauer's bag ;)
