Re: Pecards on a Nowak? (LOOK AGAIN! Pics 2 weeks later!)
Just popping in.. it's been a while. The jacket looks great after the Pecards! In my own opinion it looks a thousand times better than it did. I'm not a fan of the phony-looking overdistressing. The Pecards really gives the jacket a great look.

I guess what I'm not hearing yet is what the "bad result" will be if I do apply Pecards. Will my jacket be "ruined" or perhaps negatively altered in some way that cannot be described? I don't see how leather dressing would negatively alter the jacket...after all it's a leather j...

Interesting stuff, Steve. Thanks. I actually almost got to wear my AB in "Boardwalk Empire".. wardrobe was having trouble finding me a fedora and I told them I had one based on 1930s style fedoras (whether that is accurate of the Indy hat I really don't know.. I just figured I'd say that s...

Re: An Indy-like Fedora...
My AB has been at our cabin (upstate NY) for the past two months, so I haven't had my hands on it since then. When I had first got my AB, I had no previous experience with fedoras so I really had nothing to compare it to. Well after handling many vintage and vintage-style hats on "Boardwalk Emp...

Coolmiester...Most of the wardrobe was vintage, so I'm figuring the fedora was pretty old. It didn't even have a sweatband or liner. And yes I thought the brown ribbon and blue hat looked sharp. RC... they had a generic bash with a wide pinch and shallow dents (not sure what the 'dents' are called)....

An Indy-like Fedora...
So I've been working on Martin Scorcese's "Boardwalk Empire", which will be a series on HBO about 1920's organized crime. Anyway, wardrobe gives me a few beat up vintage fedoras to try on and I pick a blue one as similar to Indy's as I can find. She says it needed a new ribbon so she let m...

Re: One Year Into a Wested Horsehide Raiders
Nice looking jacket. My first Wested was HH (ultra thin HH compared to other brands) and yeah it had a finish that wouldn't distress quickly. I ended up selling it due to fit issues and went with the novapelle which was actually heavier. Again nice jacket.. keep on letting it distress naturally.. it...

You might want to put some leather dressing on those to tone it down. Anyone with naturally distressed boots will recognize the heavy sanding and scraping.

I could be wrong, DVD, but it looks like you were hanging the jacket on a skinny clothes hanger. You can find wide, wooden hangers online that are 2-3 inches wide and about 19 inches long. I've never ended up with bumps from the ends of the hangers or any other problems. Three of my jackets are clos...

Re: My 10 Month Old Wested Novapelle...
Yeah the handwarmer pockets are too small and the side straps are too short (you can see in the pics how short they were made) and the yoke is too low so the action-back is pretty much useless so when I reach forward the back of the jacket just tightens up rather than the pleats extending. But when ...

You gotta love washing your hands right after using leather dressing and the water just beads up on them like a freshly waxed car. I've found regular dish soap works quickly and easily when washing up afterwards.
