Hmm.. I used to have the LaMode block but misplaced it (i know). I might get that one again, it was quite nice. I was just wondering if there were any alternatives.

A thread about pouncing and other stuff

While I agree 60 is too coarse, i prefer starting with 120, then gk to 220, then 400, 600, then finer (up to 1500). If I started with 400, the hat would end up being very thick and unmalleable. Now, I'm definitely not saying the felt should be laper thin, by taking the top layer off has given me nic...

A thread about pouncing and other stuff

Hey guys, I've been told to brush my hats counter-clockwise more than once. I'm only assuming that when pouncing (by hand) it's counter-clockwise (top) as well? (clockwise underneath) Does this help change the grain of the felt to help weather proofing (build static / whatever) to resist letting in ...

Every hatted has a diferrent X standart. And it really is just to make it look more amazing. Basically what they're doing is taking a $1 bill, scribbling out the one and writing in 2000000000000 and then they go looking to 7-11 for change.

Excellent Find. I've never even heard of that hat and it's easy to miss, too, hardly in frame. It looks to have a bound snap brim and definitely a shoter, more tapered crown than a poet...it kinda looks like a simple center dent and very shallow side-dents that are more towards the middle of the hat...

Reshaping Panamas

Hi, I was thinking about getting a high-quality panama this summer and rebashing it. I hate getting a hat with a plain blocked-in bash, so I always reshape my hat so that I'm wearing IT more than IT wears me. So the $295 question is - how do Panamas respond to dry-bashing, steaming, even re-blocking...

You might consider getting some really fine sandpaper and pouncing the hats a tad more. They're pretty fuzzy. Everything else looks great.

Brody, fuzz shows up on felt during pouncing usually if there is little-to-no stiffener in the felt. Also, make sure you keep brushing the little fluff away with a hatbrush in the correct directions as someone mentioned before.
