Re: Leather Sweatbands & Petersham ribbon

I don't understand why people want to keep their source of good quality sweatbands a big secret? I know that there has to be a few people here that have a favorite source for their sweatbands and they refuse to share the info with others in the group. If they were to tell others where they get their...

(Petersham, isn't hat band quality at all and should not be used on hats. They have no edge to them. Grosgrain, has and edge but there are hatband quality grosgrain and not hat band quality grosgrain. There are some hats here that have hatband quality grosgrain on them and there are hats that have g...

Mac, Instead of using plaster I would suggest that you use pink house insulation foam. You can use the same method as in my tutorial, just replace the wood with the pink foam. Then to give the pink foam a longer life, apply polyuethane and thin cloth, silk or cotton. The polyurethain and cloth will ...

That drill press has come in handy that is for sure, I use it a lot for the work that I need to do on my rc submarine that I built from scratch. As you can see I also use the drill press as a vise. I have used that drill press to work on house hold repairs also, and to make things around the house s...

Hat Block Tutorial

To make a good hat block out of wood the first thing you need to do is get a good piece of wood. I had a 2" x 8" laying around which actually is 1.5" x 7.5" and to get a hat block that will be tall enough you will need 5 layers glued together in a stack. http://home.insightbb.com...

You might ask your teacher about the word, it maybe used to describe something. As it turns out loden can be purchased in a brown color, the Federation Delux is a dark brown color and changes with the amount of light the material is exposed to.

Hi Shane,

The hat on that page looks to be brown, but the color loden is listed as a dark olive color. Does the Loden color change with lighting?
