Whip cracking tour?
My new work ( oh I am so grateful to be gainfully employed again!!!!!) Does keep me very busy and has increased my stress level quite a bit. <But that is what they pay well for theses days> So I had to drasticly reduce the number of travel bookings I accept for several reasons. I don't have the vaca...

Learn for Free from a whip 'expert'
I'm not sure I'm and expert, but I do know I can do routines than many other self proclaimed Experts have never seen let alone tried. And I'll teach you for free. All of you, any of you. No charge.. Ever. You just have to come out to a Whip Enthusiasts practice or affliated event that I'm at. Or if ...

The how to's and what not to's have pretty much been covered, but I thought I'd share a picture of what I use to store and show off some of my whips. However, I'm not sure how I do this.[img] I use a whip 'tree' that also doubles as a target holder. I show off some of my faves in tmy living room and...

Ok, to clear up a few comments I made at the Texs summit, Here is how I take care of my whips. First and foremost, don't crack them on gravel, sand, concrete or any other abrasive surface. keep tot he grass if you can. Or, roll out a tarp, old carpet, astro turf, anything you can use that will help ...

I can't imagine what his response will be. I don't think he'll be too excited to read my email and respond. Some times Academics are so stodgy and he wasn't too pleased to debate his work with me the first time (since I'm not a mathmatician nor in any of his classes). I can't say I'd really blame hi...

I'm wondering the same thing. I emailed Alan a moment ago and it usually takes a day or two for him to reply. If he has backed off his earlier claim, I'm hoping my debate with him played some small part. The clincher to my side of the debate was the same spin crack I demonstrated at the park (TX- In...

Great posting Sergei, There is an interesting foot note to that scientific paper Goriely published. At first he was making the arguement that it was the loop traveling the length of the bullwhip that was generating the sound. I had a couple of email discussions with him and illustrated that a whip c...

If anyone in this forum is serious about getting in the sport of whip cracking, I strongly reccomend a stock whip set. IMHO there are really only three or four whip makers producing top ranked competition sets. Not surprsingly, those whip makers are also top ranked competitors or past Aussie Nationa...

In the later half of the video clip the stock whip pair I'm using were made by Mike Murphy. They are a sport competition set. Which means they are about 5.5 ft of thong and lighter than usual. However, Mike's skill is obvious. Not just in the nearly perfect plaiting but also in the well balanced wei...

Thank you for such a gracious welcome Sergei, I'm glad to know I'm in such good company and my friends are here as well. Ok, I've seen the video clip. Thanks for editing out the bloopers. If any one is curious The whip I use most of the time in that clip is a long handled bullwhip, also made ...

There is always something I'm forgetting. MJ, the stock whip pair I had with me that day are light, even for stock whips. That particular pair is a competition set made for me by Mike Murphy and are far lighter than some of my other sets. I think my long handled bullwhip set is closer to the weight ...

Hello everyone, I've just joined this forum and I'm glad I got a chance to meet some of you and crack whips in the park down here in Dallas. I haven't seen the video clip yet and as my broadband connection is down until the 5th, I have about 20 more minutes to wait on the down load. Hopefully I didn...
