EMERGENCY : Whats happening to my AB ?
Hat was a little dusty today after some yard work. Sometimes I like it dusty and sometimes I dont. So I proceded to brush it with my hat brush, wich I have done several times over 4 years with the same hat brush and the beaver felt started to pill  The more I brushed the more it pilled, at th...

I think tucking it in under the sweat band would work in most cases. I cannot because I folded the sweat in half to help with the SOC look, so now the liner is just a little to short to be held in securely. I think im going to have to choose between the glue or the velcro dots , my only concern with...

Removeable liner ?
Last year after some research I decided to remove the liner from my AB. I think most agree the hats are cooler (temp wise) without the liner and I think as a whole we agree the heros hat had the the liner removed in ROTLA, so my AB is that much more SA. We all still see shots of the liner in the oth...

I am finding that it does a better job with water proffing than pecards with less applications. To much of anything is bad for leather including pecards, from what I have read mink oil has gotten a bad rap over the years, mainly due to the byproducts that most companies use in it now.I have no rebut...

I found this product from leather sheath maker, MONTANA PITCH BLEND, he recommended it for care and water proofing on his sheaths. Just type in the name it should come up, this stuff is great I use this on all my leather gear now, It is a blend of bees wax, pine pitch, and 100% mink oil. I just trie...

I just recieved a pair of todds gloves and there worth every dime. I took a chance on the gloves (not to dis todd or his products) :D but they look like the general run of the mill work glove that you find at home depot. I have passed these up many times because I always felt the grip with the glove...

A little off topic, but I dont see any grooves in the bag strap in that pic. I also agree with with the oil theory, some of the latest pics of the TOD jacket look the same way. I sanded , wire brushed mine because I didnt like the results I was getting from acetone. After a coat of pecards with brow...

I think the reason indy chose the 1917 was price. ( assuming we leave out its a movie) The 1911,created in that year was undergoing mass production in 1936, over 5 million made between the the great wars. It was chosen by the military to phase out the british 38 which has poor stopping power. In the...

I have seen several comments on the metal hardware on the gas mask bag. Most that its to bright. I used birchwood casey instant gun blue to age the metal disk, strap rings, air vents, and snaps on my todd bag, u just apply it with q-tip. The cool thing is, if you feel you have over done it, you can st...

incredible, I think its one of the best distressing jobs I've seen. I agree the that the color you end up with after sanding or acetone dosent look good at all. IMO the jacket in the movies has a orange color to it,(distressed areas) wich to me has a better contrast to it. I did not like the acetone...
