They come and go. K's are still more common for bulk police trade-ins.

Good site for used K-frame Smiths and more
I have no association with this site but they get a LOT of police turn-ins and bulk buys.
Lots of "Indy-type" guns, at least K-Frame Smiths.
Give it a look, all state and Federal laws apply.

Re: Restoring milled Webley cylinders
What loss in value did the conversion to .45 ACP cause? :-k The converted revolvers are already one step removed from "original" and yet they've become their own category of collectibility. I guess the decision could be based on overall condition? If it isn't high value anymore why not &qu...

Re: Restoring milled Webley cylinders
That's more limited than what I was thinking. Think H. Rider Haggard, explorers into the heart of darkness, that sort of thing. The costume options alone should draw participants, and sundowners out of crystal glasses at a safari camp table beat a shot of rotgut hunched over a campfire any day. :D

Re: Restoring milled Webley cylinders
Just need to popularize "Victorian Action Shooting". Get all the classic mid/late 19th Century British and European firearms involved. Adams, Webley, the various French revos (a la The Mummy), C96 Mausers etc with lots of puttees and pith helmets. Looks like Cowboy Action Shooting has spun...

Restoring milled Webley cylinders
An Oklahoma gunsmithery is now in the process of restoring Webley cylinders milled down to fire .45 ACP to their original condition allowing .455 Webley to be fired. http://www.truittandson.com/ I have no personal knowledge of the company and cannot endorse them but as this forum represents one of t...

Re: Handgun Suggestions [For a Literary Project]
Depending on your setting, don't get too hung up on concealment issues, no pistol you've mentioned is a problem. From personal experience, it is not terribly difficult to regularly comfortably and discreetly carry (some) full-size autos and K/L frame revolvers under even something as simple as an un...

Re: AK or Mossberg 500 (updated)
Thanks again guys for the help. I did get the Mossberg today at a gun show in Charlotte for $320. And I am still planning on getting an AK, probably later this summer. I really like AKs and have shot them a good bit, but I'm just gonna wait until the summer when funds are a bit better. Did I read c...

And, if I may, it doesn't have quite the negative stigma attached to it that the AK does...Not that that really affects my choices, as it were.... Not to sound like an idiot or something, but the "stigma" really doesn't bother me at all. I like what I like. And I do have to agree with you...

Makes sense, because maybe he would pick up whatever was available locally and cheap. Carrying guns on airplanes and through customs could have been a problem, even back then. Re: S & W Blank Ammo
Forgot to ask. What are you using the blanks for? You could prime up some empty cases with magnum pistol primers, like a cci 350, and get a pretty good "crack" out of them. I wouldn't think there'd be any more ejecta than with a full blank (which are treated like live rounds in terms of sa...

Not to bad mouth a particular company, but Cheaper Than Dirt often is not. Go to your local hardware or hobby store. Buy 6 inches of this http://www.ravsupply.com/home/rs1/smartlist_28/half__quarter_rounds.html cut in half and glue on either side. I disagree about the .32-20's utility for self-defense. All that follows is my semi-educated opinion. The .32-20 is not the same critter as the .32 Long, it has far more energy given that it's coming out of a revolver about 2-300 fps faster. It's pushing a, what, 100 gr. round at about 1000 fps from...

Replica or real gun, check your state and local statutes on carrying weapons and see what the theatre policy is. In Virginia, open carry is legal. As long as the theatre management didn't ask you to leave or have the building posted, you would be legal from what I know of their state statutes. Given...

DA stands for double action, meaning the trigger both cocks and releases the hammer. SA is like a cowboy gun, you have to cock the hammer by hand. All the trigger does is release it. Remember the barrel on a revolver is measured from the muzzle to the back of the forcing cone (the part that is right...

just to be clear.. the HP was a .9mm? Technically it was a 9mm. . 9mm would be a safety pin. :D Common mistake though. The .32/.38/.45 calibers are in hundreths of an inch, thus the decimal.
