Looks like some beautiful and satisfying work!
As a fellow guitar builder, I can appreciate the planning, time, and effort that went into this.
Enjoy that hat!

Very nice, C.A.K.!
It looks like you've incorporated some critical details in that one that most people miss.
I'm anxious to follow your progress and then perhaps place an order one of these days!

Re: Wested XL shirt measurement. . .
Thank you photoss--that's exactly what I needed to know.
One other thing: Did your shirt shrink any with washing?
I have two other similar shirts right now that fit me well, and they each measure exactly 25" pit-to-pit, so I want to make sure.

Wested XL shirt measurement. . .
Hi Guys, When it comes to the shirt, sizing has always been a miss for me. I've owned a few from the various vendors, and the shirt has always been slightly too small and snug, or else just too large. I'm looking to get a Wested now, but want to be sure about the pit-to-pit measurements for an XL: D...

I'll second DarrenHenryW in that my DelCarpio is my favorite. I've owned several of the big makers including an older Morgan, and this one is the one I keep coming back to for a Raiders feel and vibe. I also happen to really love my C-n-C, though, for getting out and practicing different skills. htt...

Fedoralover, it's the beaver felt, and it's really pretty flexible, so it's fairly easy to get it to do what you want it to do.

Hi Guys,
I've had my hat from Mike for about five days now and I just wanted to report in and say how very pleased I am with it. I think that Mike's hats are truly something special. I'll try and get a shot or two up soon if you guys are still interested.

I'm also a regular hat-wearer in general--various "driver's caps," and light-weight fedoras in straw, paper, etc. When I do wear them--especially out to a grocery store--I will get something along the lines of a "hey--nice hat" from other guys who are hat-wearers. I guess that th...

Thanks for the compliments. I've resigned myself to the fact that getting "the look" means working with a hat over time through "many looks," since everything with an Indy-style fedora is a compromise. I also decided that I'd just put this hat through all kinds of treatments to b...

There's no good reason not to get one, regardless of the price. It's very satisfying to handle, and is extremely accurate. It's funny--am I really this shallow? I was actually thinking of listing and letting go of a Del Carpio kip Raiders earlier this year. This whip was made with hides that Bernardo got from David Morgan himself, and looks just like a Raiders whip should look, in my experience (to me, it looks better t...

Our house was broken into back in early May. I drove up to our carport behind the house during lunchtime, and the door had been kicked open. My first instinct was to grab my whip (which I keep behind my seat in my truck at all times) and get out of the car and check to see if anyone was still around...

Bullwhip used to make a connection with someone
Just wanted to share this story. I am a therapist, and I work with families of children who have special needs and learning issues. Haven't actually used it, but I carry it around in my truck with me just in case. Earlier this year I had stopped at a grocery store on the way home, and on my way back out to the truck, a very assertive pan-handler type guy just would not leave me alone, even after my cold stare and growl to "...

After owning four Westeds that did this "wing" thing, I finally gave up and sold them off. The only jacket I've tried that doesn't do this at all on me is the G&B Expedition. My theory has been that the back panel on the Wested panel is just too wide overall, so the "wings" e...

I love all of these whip stories. Here's one of mine. I was out in a bar on Halloween in full gear (resin replica .45 in the holster even) with two friends. It was dark, and at one point I got that standard question: "Where's your whip, Indy?" To which I replied: "Got it right here.&q...

Thanks for the story Dan! I'm with you on the effect of that opening scene in Raiders, and the whip coming out of nowhere.
