Re: STEELE & JONES '38
Very nice jackets. What's the pricing structure for these? I didn't really find anything on the website apart from the 90 day wait times.

Re: Visited US Wings and met Sarge!!
Hack is a super nice guy. Was very personable in an email conversation about sizing back when I got my first jacket in 2005. As a wee 15 year old with a lot of questions he was very patient and understanding! Speaking of Jackets... My russet wings jacket just came in. Very nice leather used for it. ...

Two loved hats...
Here you guys go, a new Akubra hat, and an my 2 year old PB hat. The Akubra I received from the mail one week ago, and I love the small sweat band. And I love the dry bash I put into it. My Peters Bros has seen a lot of action. It is tapered, discolored, and even has a few small holes. I have recent...

Here's my two cents, sure you can find it elsewhere for cheaper. I just like the demo that shows how to fold it.

I don't, and I don't have a camera anymore. It's not what I'd call a high end hat at all, but it's comfortable, and breathes really well. They'll last you more than a season if you take care of it. I'm not encouraging you to baby it, but as long as it stays on your head, and not in the lawn mower, i...

I would say it's not any thinner than a panama straw (at least a Cuenca type), but it's lighter and airier (if that's a real word). It's a completely different experience compared to a panama hat. And that's where people have problems with the hat. It's very different from most the straw hats seen ...

Stiffener! Wool will taper easily, but stiffener will help slow that down. Also there are surprisingly different grades of wool felt. If this is an official Dorfman Pacific Indy hat, it ranges from a low grade wool (Mostly children sizes) and medium grade wool(Most adult sizes). Either one of those ...

Stetson uses buffalo/bison fur felt for some of their hats. I would say judging by the texture it is only one grade above a wool hat. It's very coarse and it tapers very quickly once it gets wet.

the commonly accepted ribbon is an extremely dark brown....i've heard it been called a nigerian brown. against a sable colored felt, it will look black but indeed it is brown. I meant from a traditional dress Fedora look, not an Indiana Jones Fedora. Indiana G is correct though, if you want to keep...

It's the only reason I haven't purchased a DP off of the internet. I really need to inspect the quality of felt and the construction of the hat. I called up Peter Brothers to ask questions and finally take the plunge. It is Milan Straw, and if you talk it out with them, you can ask for different pinches, brim shapes, and brim sizes. It's not much different than ordering a custom felt hat. I'm happy, and I don't even have my hat yet! :D I wa...

Is the straw as soft as it looks? Yes it is, it can be bent in just about any direction with out snapping. It's very nice. I've been wanting to see a customer pic of that one for a while! Sunlight usually fades colors, so I'd assume it is the same with leather. I know that sometimes wetting leather with water will bring up more dye and darken the leather, but it also dries the leather out. Usually a good dosing of Leather Dressing will bring the life back into the leather. Others sho...
