Re: Pulling the trigger
I own two Westeds and while they are great jackets I have to echo Mulceber's thoughts. Are you set on Wested? Wested jackets are great, no question, but I recently 'pulled the trigger' on a Steele & Jones in horsehide. I can tell you that Diego's customer service is amazing and he will take you ...

Just placed the order with Diego for the '36 in horsehide. Diego is curating a standard hide which is on the thinner side. Truly great service. Now comes the wait.

You bring up a good point. Modern car seats don't lend themselves to wearing full brimmed hats.

Re: What do you wear with your fedora when not in gear?
Well, I guess I'll jump in and say it must be related to age. I'm at that age I just don't care. I wear my fedora with anything. It's a tool. A covering for the head to keep the sun off in summer, and head warm in winter. It keeps the rain and snow off my noggin. I've been mistaken for Indiana Jone...

That is a fantastic jacket IJ! Thank you for the photos. :D I've contacted Diego and he said he'd use a thin standard for my jacket if I wanted. I'm definitely going to take him up on the offer. Just so you know when you click on the photos they show correctly. How long have you had the jacket? It l...

For whatever it's worth, I just received my Steele and Jones 36 in standard thickness horsehide based on the recommendation from Diego. I had same questions you have. Perhaps try asking him. Steele & Jones '36 Horsehide
Hi all, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a new Raiders jacket from Steele & Jones. I already know I want horsehide, but they have two thicknesses, Standard and Thin. I'm tempted by the thin but I plan to give this jacket a rough time so I'm leaning towards the standard. Also, I plan t...

Hemidall, I would suggest that you try on a suit jacket to determine your correct size there, but I'm guessing you are a 40R. I would also suggest that you go for the gussets and the inside pocket. I don't know how many of those special requests Peter might do at the moment. I'd email him and ask be...

What a day, Wested HH arrived too!
Not only did my G&B replacement arrive, but so did my Wested horsey. The hh is very smooth to the touch but it feels like it will last forever. It is definitely a jacket to take some serious punishment. The horse is much heavier than the goat. The goat almost feels like lamb in comparison. Oh an...

Huzzah! G&B Expedition Goat arrived! Replacement arrived
Hi all, I just picked up my new dark brown G&B Expedition in goat. I ordered it last Monday evening, so that was eight working days to arrive. By post no less. Now that I own a G&B I can heartily agree with the rave reviews of this jacket. Now without further ado, the photos: http://www.kess...

Just point out to all those giving you grief that you are wearing all natural, renewable resource, biodegradable clothing and that the nylon/poly viscose clothing they are wearing are petroleum based products that will sit in landfills for millennia. Then watch the light go on. It's pretty funny act...
