Just wondering if anyone could check it out in person - all the colors of the shirts made here by members and such are already great. But just to check on it in person would be a hoot.

Whip repair in Los Angeles?
Hey, Gang -
I saw a notice somewhere that Midwest Whips has a presence in Los Angeles right now.
Might Midwest Whips or anyone else in the Los Angeles area be qualified enough to work on a higher end whip? Replace the fall, etc?
PM me too if possible.
Thanks!

Yes. The Raiders hero was a beautiful mess.
If you look at the Adventurebilt Legacy you can see them reproduced to the most humanly possible degree I think.

I'd like to add that in 1990 - 1991 the LFL archives was set up such that not everything was overly categorized. There was a box of IJ hats in the archives dept. with only two hero hats set aside to differentiate themselves from all the others. Another hero hat was on display up at the Skywalker Ran...

I ordered a gray Raiders in the late 1980's from HJ. It is definitely the right color from what I can tell but over the TOD block I think. A friend of mine has it now and I will try to get a picture.
But same proportions as my HJ brown, ribbon and all.

Remember too that HJ Poet brim was listed at 3 1/8" untrimmed. Assuming someone went as far to get an HJ.
WAAAY back I got my HJ's untrimmed and trimmed them myself back in 1984 and up through early 90's.

Wow, that was fun! If you do a search you can find scenes from it on german file sharing sites, etc. About 5 minutes. That's still so beautiful, Ron. That is a hat that you have kept more as a collector's item it seems such that it does not suffer from all the shrinking and distortion a worked over HJ succumbs to.

Yes, that is WEIRD. How is it at all possible that anyone could think the Indy hats to be made of leather? I have even had folks hold/ touch my HJ and Adbilt hats and say, "is that leather?"
WTF?!!!
I mean, in all these years did they think that Bogart's hat was leather?!

I've read here on COW, many times for many years, that the LC jacket was made out of a very heavy/thick lambskin. Oh there's no way I would try this! It happened quite by accident. You can't see the area at all when the hat is either dry or wet but, in the process of drying, the torched out area stays dark/ wet a little longer.
A rookie move but such will be with hats.
