Re: Don't know where else... where to get a good leather jac

Don't know of any other leather jacket forums, although it'd be nice to know where there are some but I'm not sure I want to get a jacket at US Wings anymore. I just mean a leather jacket not just an indy one.. Are there any other good online stores for leather jackets? Online stores: US Authentic,...

Re: Sleeve Lengthening

Just curious to see if anyone has any ideas on how to make my jacket sleeves just a tad longer. I hate to say they are too short for me because with my arms straight down they cover my wrist but I would like them to be maybe 1/2 inch longer without taking the jacket to a tailor. Any help would be g...

I've used Lexol with good results though it may darken the leather. Can anyone compare Lexol with Pecard's Lotion for use on lambskin?

Hot water method! 1. Place jacket under hot water in a shower, while trying to avoid wetting the lining and knits. Wipe dry, air dry, or wear immediatley and a nice grain will start to show. 2. More drastic: fill tub with hot water and soak jacket for a few minutes to an hour, knead the leather for ...

I've used brown tint Pecards on my seal A-2 jacket. No problem with it VISIBLY rubbing off since it soaked in and I wiped it well with a soft cloth. I suppose I might have been able to see something shortly after application if I sat on something pure white.

No one anwers, so I'll take a shot at this. I've used Pecard's Weatherproof brown Tint. It applies and conditions just like the Classic except for the tint. I've never used it on an old jacket to hide scuffs though that is the stated purpose of the product. I used it on a new FS A-2 jacket to change...

I once shrank a size 40 goatskin jacket to about a 39 by soaking in hot water and allowing to air dry. I don't like the idea of using the dryer because of the possibility of abrasion unless you also want to "age" the leather.

I love FS A-2's. I own three of them and have a fourth on order. They are: Chocolate Brown Lambskin, Seal Brown Goatskin, Black Goatskin, and the Mahagony Horsehide on order. They are the best value in A-2's, with most of the quality of the premium makers (Eastman, Real McCoys, and Aero) for a lot l...

I have a FS A-2 seal brown that had a greyish cast with a slight hint of olive color. I used Pecards Brown which is russet in color. After a couple applications my jacket became browner and redder. The effect was not dramatic, maybe not the red/brown you are looking for, but an improvement.

I would call it a graphite look, like as if graphite powder were rubbed into it. My FS seal brown goat has a slight bit of that grayish graphite look. I used Pecards Brown and that got rid of it.

On another jacket forum a guy claimed you could increase your size jacket by almost one size by saturating it in cold water and placing either pillows or some kind of inflated bladder in the jacket. Then force the zipper closed and let it dry. To lenghten the sleeves, saturate the sleeves, clip the ...
