Surprisingly, I got my three Indy shirts at Shopko, and they already had the right buttons. You might want to check out the shirts at your retail stores.

Michaelson is right. Before my lining bled out I'd nver heard of it before, or since for that matter. I jusat wanted to add it, as it's quite a thing to be surprised by. My post is probably around here somewhere, with Peter's reply. I think I had called it "Does a dead animal still bleed?"...

This is important if you have the cotton lining!!! Don't wear a light colored shirt under your Wested in the rain! I did, and the dye in the lining bled out all over the shirt. Shame, too; it was one of my three Indy shirts :( Peter said it was a combination of the water and my body heat that caused...

I'll have to go in the opposite direction as Kyle's advice. I would not bother to get a 6-foot and graduate up. Whips are expensive, and you'll need/want to "graduate" well before your wallet is. An 8-foot is a good way to go, I would say. It may take a bit more time to get it down, but tw...

That's a great question, considering most here prefer the original MKVII's to repros. I've personally never seen an authentic issue holster that's a dead match for the Raiders holster. This is the look most of us go for, so you have to get into repros, like Lee's, which is about as dead-on as a guy ...

I'm no expert on this topic, but I'd guess it evolved in the US later on, like the 40's/50's. That's about the time fedoras seemed to be come more "streamline" with lower crowns and such. I guess they better complimented a "business" look that way. Perhaps the sleek, dimensional ...

I'd go off white and distress them with mud. They look really white on film, might be the leather, might be the sand and dust giving them that "powdered" look.

Converting IMA's replica .455 holster to a Raiders holster.

I did this about two years ago. There are far more options for most gear now, so I thought I'd throw it out here. The holster I got was supplied very dark brown, almost black. It's a .455, so it's quite long. As supplied, it makes the best ToD holster available, IMHO. But I was going for a Raiders h...

A swivel handle is just what it implies; it rotates on the thong. In theory this feature is supposed to make learning easier. Certain cracks, especially multiple cracks, require swinging the whip over your head in circular motions. With a standard "pro" bullwhip you have to get the hang of...

Mike, If you watch closely the whip is limp and hangs in oval coils ANYTIME it's shown on his belt. I think these whips were softened for that effect, as it just looks better. My Joe Strian, even after three years, is quite stiff and hangs in stiff round coils. It looks funny, not to mention it spen...

Diamond plating on the handle; not always the case?

Here's one I've had in my head for a while. It seems to me that not all the whips in Raiders had the diamond pattern. The Mark Allen-owned Glen Randall whip clearly does, but the photo of the Christies auctioned whip shows tha handle as being plaited identical to the thong. It's hard to get a good v...

As for the stencil I'd contact Noel Howard. He may be your best shot. From what I know of the subject the text consists of W&G and the year. As for a mark of a repro, I'd personally leave out the small loop of twine on the right hand side next to the small pocket. It's small, often over looked a...
