Re: The first Indy Jacket made in Italy
Well done...but will this jacket have the Italian cut? High armholes, slim sleeves and slim body? If so, I think an Italian indy would be a great alternative to the other jackets out there...

With all due respect, a microfiber tie is still not a natural fiber tie. I personally feel it's a bit inappropriate or anachronistic to have man-made fibers in a reasonably accurate indy costume. Is Atkinsons' silk and wool fabric rare or something? If Noel could offer it at a reasonable price, I'm ...

Marc, when they contact you for a hat, give them a shirt too. I'll get a Medium. One pointer: if you study the pics will see that HF shirt had narrower sleeves than the shirt NH is offering now. Check it and you will see. Agreed. One thing that bothers me about the NH shirt is that the sleeves aren...

PLATON, I think you've got the low, medium, and high-rise description mixed-up, at least according to American specs and trends. Low-rise means the distance from the waistband to crotch seam is shorter than regular. High-rise means that the distance is longer. You could read more from this wikipedia...

You know, back to the armholes - I think they're too big in general. For OTR, it makes sense since manufacturers want to fit the lowest (or widest) common denominator. Thus, armholes are bigger, which actually limits mobility and contributes to the body of the jacket pulling with the sleeve. In my o...

Platon, looking at the two pics, the original and the photoshopped, I see more of an inch, not a 2 inch difference. But yeah, I agree with you, I would get it longer. The problem with total screen accuracy is that few people here have the same dimensions and proportions as Ford. For example, Platon,...

I just busted out laughing when I saw Platon's diagram of the pocket layout. That is pure sweetness. I like the hand pointing at the top stitching. Oh man, I think I pooped a little. I'm laughing, but that didn't prevent me from saving that picture to send it to Wested for my jacket. Man, correct or...

Again, I don't pretend that I know the economics involved in the apparel industry. I don't have any experience in that industry. Regarding vendors having an opportunity to make this jacket - why not? People are already making requests for a Temple-like jacket from Wested anyways. I think if anything, Platon has revitalized a lot of interest in the TOD jacket, which is a bit overdue. Platon's point is a pretty valid one. He's a fan who was so bent on screen accuracy that he offered the most screen accurate pants (specifically the correct back pocket flaps). But apparently not too many people took him up on the offer. I did! And I will be very sad when he no longer offers the pan...

That pocket placement looks WAY off. That wouldn't look close to normal. In my opinion, the jacket may not be zipped. Instead, in order to fit around the dummy bust or whatever the jacket is on, I think they probably overlapped the two ends of the jacket to provide a more realistic, fitting look. If...

Several of you have mentioned this combination as a good way to maintain Aldens, along with pecard's. Aldens are US $300+ now. I thought these were like 250 a couple years ago. They seem to be adding 50 bucks every couple of years. Also, the fit of Aldens is not an easy thing. I love the LC jacket. Great distressing. Looks manly. I think it's tough to pull off the Raiders jacket, actually. Because of it's slightly shorter length, and the relatively smooth appearance of the jacket gives it a truly 80s look. I'm not too sure how many guys can pull off the 80s look. Harrison...

x-box stitching seems to be a disputed detail. But apparently it's more practical as it provides reinforcement for the strap. The pocket stitching seems to clearly vary, as puppetboy mentioned. I don't know if there's any practical benefit to either variation. Pocket placement and size seems to vary...

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e132/jcg60625/TOD004J.jpg This is a temple jacket, but you could see that the distance from pocket bottom to jacket bottom is significant longer than the width of the storm flap.
