I've had one for over 5 years now and it cracks really well...
Measurements have been taken from a Morgan whip and once conditioned it takes on a beutiful bllilliant orange..
It has also weathered extremely well with no discernable difference to the Morgan..at much less cost too..

Definitely right there are so may variations out there...it is starting to blur..
I had my ROLA Wested goat skin jacket cut a little shorter, tapered and the storm flaps sown to give it a more stream line fit..

I had to sen the jacket back too as slightly too big and I customised it by having the jacket length lifted and the sleeves shortened slightly..

I concentrated on the leather strap as the bag is from 1936 anyway...
I also used the bag in a violent helicopter motion to give it to my naughty labrador when she got up to no good ! Works very well indeed...

I tried getting dragged behind a 4WD for a while...I couldn't hang on for more than a meter or two, my hands kept giving out. Maybe asphalt has too much friction and the dirt in Egypt allows you to get dragged easier??

I had a pretty good result with Methylated spirits alcohol, light snad paper, throwing it against a brick wall, lending it to my little nephew for a few days, and rubbing it with a cloth and Pecards...

Got a bit adventerous in distressing my Wested goat skin and I took a chunk of leather off the suurface. It quite superficial but also quite noticeable, how can I repair it...does anyone know??

I know that is a nice shade ! Did the stitches turn that colour or are they still off white in color?? As well once finished will you get color cut through when the leather gets scratched ??
