Thanks Steve, this is pretty much the state of mind I'm in now. I didn't buy it just so it could sit on the shelf looking fancy and if it's gonna look like an adventurers hat, then dagnammit, it's gonna smell like one too! :lol: (Plus if it does get ruined you might get a chance to get your hands on...

I'm gearing up to do The Oxford 'Town and Gown' Fun Run in May, in aid of Muscular Dystrophy...and was considering doing it in some of my Indy gear. My concern is that sweating in my hat for an hour or so (it's only a 10k run) will do some permanent damage to it...does anyone know if this is likely ...

I paid £26 in the end. Probably a bit over the odds, but it was the first time I've used ebay and I guess I got the 'must win' blinkers on.

Well well. Seems like the back taper COULD be "healed" with a proper back crease! Now if only the side to side taper could be removed with deaper creases on the sides... but this is where I fear that it won't do. I made some minor changes last night to deepen the crown dent and it did see...

I just looked at the pics again, and the felt seems to be nicer than the last stuff they used. Does the brim snap up? It is hard to tell whether they flanged the brim. Thanks for the details, Puppetboy and Indiana Jerry. My main anxiety really has been from not knowing what the production process involves.

Please take plenty of pictures BEFORE you put in the bash - front, side, back, etc. In my experience, you get the least distorted pictures if you stand as far back from the subject as you can and zoom in to fill the frame.
