Note: Was I the only one that thought Thomas Kretschmann (Captain of the ship) looked indyish... when he smiled at the begining it was quite fordian I thought... Couldnt find a good image of him though... Yeah, kind if like if Indy was wearing Katanga's cap on the Bantu Wind . I thought the same th...

A modified Poet, that is.
Well I guess he borrowed it from Indy. He must have been visiting the set that day. :)
So however Indy modified his hat...

I've currently got 6, but I've worn out about 6 or 7 more over the years. They were $15 Mexican whips that I would pick up every time we drove over to Juarez. Now I have a 10' David Morgan, and I haven't touched one of the others since.

Re: More Indy whip pics!!

Hi again, Since I had a photo session this weekend with my whips, I thought about sharing a few pics with you guys. Here's my collection of Indy whips, including: my Morgans, a Strain, a Shultz, a Winrich (in cowhide), and my new Stenhouse, even though its black, its really an Indy style bullwhip. ...

I don't know, but in this "deleted scene" screen shot ( don't ask how I got it... I have connections  ) it appears to be a Poet that this guy has on his head. Hmmm.... http://www.chriswhiteportraits.com/images/kingkong107.jpg I love this film too. But I was also unlucky enough to hav...

Actually I didn't start this string. I joined in on November 23 with a comment about the length of whip the Harrison Ford carried at his side. I would be interested in seeing the progress on the whip being made by Ghost though. I've deconstructed and reconstructed an old 4 plait Mexican whip of mine...

You could be right "Edge" I must admit to a bit of extra enthusiasm each time I take my DM for a spin. I have gotten a few good loud bangs out of it. But for the most part I'm pretty reserved. I live in an apartment complex and the neighbors aren't too keen on the loud ones. Plus my daught...

That's ok... thanks. No need to apologize. BTW compliments on your thorough research into the whip. I've looked over some of your other posts... impressive. I will follow a bit of your advice in using the search features. There is so much info here! And when I saw your notes in the pic, I went and p...

Hi Sergei, Was your post directed to me? My statement about the 10 foot length came right from the David Morgan site: Bullwhip, 10 ft., Natural Tan Indiana Jones Whips We supplied over 30 bullwhips of the 451 series for the Indiana Jones movies. These ranged in length from 6 feet to 16 feet. The sta...

Hi Ghost, I hope your whip turns out great! About the length, when I bought my David Morgan I found out that David actually made several lengths for the films, ranging from 6 feet to 16 feet. But the whip you see Indy carrying at his side is the 10 foot model 455. I have always preffered the 10 foot...

White or Red Fall

I'm new here, so forgive me if this topic has been covered, but... I just replaced the fall on my DM 455 last night. I've had the whip since late September. I use the whip whenever I can, so it has been put through the ropes, but is that a short life for a white kangaroo fall? Would the red hide be ...

Thanks guys! Great to be part of the group. I was so glad to find a place like this. I've always been a gearhead at heart, but only after finding Indy Gear did I know where to actually find the real deal. I started with the Aldens, which I wear every day. I'm on my feet constantly and it's nice to h...

I recently bought my Mark VII and strap from Mr. Howard. He was very promt in his replies. He told me that his supply of shirts and pants was limited to only a few sizes, and that he didn't currently have any of his other Indy items, ie: gun belt, holster etc. I don't know if he'll be going back int...

Hi Everyone! I'm the new guy in town. I just wanted to say that at work they call me Indy because I wear my Aldens every day. Thankfully I don't have to wait for a casual Friday. They also poke a little fun at me for my "purse", my Mark VII, which is always with me. It has been recognized ...

Congrats on a great whip! I absolutely love my DM 455. I've collected whips for 25 years, but there is still nothing like holding a David Morgan for the first time. :D IMHO truly the "Grail" of whips. I wear my Aldens to work every day, but unfortunately they want me leave the whip at home...
